Any suggestions for Magic Kingdom rides I can ride with my 1 year old daughter? This will be her first trip, and my 1st trip as a parent, to Disney.

Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, Snow White, The Carousel, It's a Small World, Jungle Cruise, the Carousel, Dumbo (if you want to stand in long lines), the boat, Aladdin (ditto on the long lines), The Tomorrowland Transportation Authority (if you're going after late August), the train...and don't forget to take her to Pooh Playground...I'm sure there's more, but that's it off the top of my head.

You can take her on anything that does not have a height restriction. Which is pretty much everything in MK except Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain and Gooy's Barnstormer.

THE above poster is correct. We took ds8 when he was 4 months old and he rode most of the rides.

And Stitch. I wouldn't do the Teacups (there really isn't a lot of room in them),

We first took my son to DL when he was 11 months. He was not walking yet, so he it was easy for him to be in the stroller. I distinctly remember him liking Dumbo and It's A Small World. He wasn't talking yet, so he clapped when Dumbo started moving...I took that as a positive sign!!

Honestly, I think you could take your 1 year old on most things. But it depends on her...will she sit in a ride for 5 minutes and not try to climb out? Is she afraid of the dark or loud noises? Start with the easy rides...Dumbo and Aladdin, if she likes them, move on to It's A Small World. If she likes that, try Peter Pan, etc. Probably the only ones I wouldn't try with her are: anything that has height requirement (duh!), Snow White (my son still won't go on that and he's 4), The Haunted Mansion (my son goes on that now, but not when he was 1), Pirates (again, he goes on it now, but not when he was 1...although since the WDW version is shorter than DL, she might be able to sit through it), Mickey's PhilarMagic (too intense for a 1 year old, I think).

Have fun! My son, at 4 years old, is now a DL veteran! We have our first WDW trip next month.

Shewww, first trip as a parent. Just take a deep breath and relax. Take naps/swims when necessary and take it nice and slow. This is a big change for you and such a magical time for your daughter. You will be suprised how different everything is w/ a kid in tow. Last year was our first trip w/ my kids and it was just so different to see it all thru thier eyes. Fantasyland is your friend, you daughter will be able to do everything there. Also most things w/out height restrictions your DD will love. Also consider taking her to the trails at AK so she can see the animals, KS would be too much for her but the trails are really neat. Take lots and lots and lots of pictures and have a great trip.

The only ones she can't ride are the mountains, Stitch, and Barnstormer. I'd plan on packing some child-sized ear plugs for her if you plan to do Philharmagic or other shows, because the volume can be frightening for a little one even though the content isn't.

Disney is really amazingly baby friendly. We're going to be taking our 1yo on her first trip in January, and I was really surprised to find there are only 5 rides in MK, 4 in Epcot, 4 in AK, and 3 in HS that she can't ride. There are others that we might consider skipping if it seems like she'll be scared, but right now she's fearless so long as she has her big brother & sister around, so I expect she'll be doing a lot of rides with the rest of the family.

We brought dd for her first trip at 18 months and she went on: Dumbo, It's a Small World, Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan...can't remember what else. Jungle Cruise was in rehab, as was the Carousel. We skipped Snow White since I heard it was scary, she loves snow white now though so we might do that this trip. Have a magical trip!

Sorry, I've tried to block the Stitch Attraction out of my mind! lol! We consider it a prime waste of valuable MK property.
