MK Resort at Thanksgiving

We're currently booked at the Contemporary for Thanksgiving week. When got a good rate there, but for about the same amount of money we could stay at AKL -- AKL would actually be about $200 more. I have to admit, the Contemporary itself doesn't excite me much but when I booked it I thought it would be advantageous to be within walking distance to MK during such a busy time of the year. We have APs and will go to all 4 parks.

I guess my questions is, would you switch to AKL or would you stick with CR (garden wing)? Do you really think it'll be a big advantage to be at an AK resort that week as opposed to AKL? We've been during Thanksgiving before and stayed at CSR, which we thought was great, so that's why I'm wondering if CR is really the right choice. We've never stayed at AKL, though we have a few more trips planned before our APs run out and we could stay there another time. I'm not really sure what to do!

I would keep CR so you can walk to MK if you choose to and can take a boat or monorail to get to other nearby resorts to see holiday decorations or eat and you have the electrical water pageant.

AKL is gorgeous, but by switching, you sacrifice room size and proximity to MK (and EP). For a Thanksgiving trip, I would stick with CR. We actually really like the garden wing at CR. It's very peaceful and it's actually more convenient to walk to MK because you don't have to deal with the very crowded tower elevators. I would do AKL another time.
