Merry Christmas everyone! I am working on a "tentative" MK plan for end of Feb. We have a CP 8:05 ADR, a 2:20 BBB appointment, and a 9:05 BOG dinner. I will try for BOG lunch too but know that is just a small possibility that we will get it! I know this is a lot and I do plan on skipping some things. Out of this list- what would you skip? Still reading about the rides and will watch some videos too to help me decide! Thanks! Should I rearrange my FP any? Also, the Cinderella and Rapunzel M&G has a really long wait, so is there a chance of getting a 4th FP for that in the afternoon? We are doing Akershus the day before, so will we meet both of them there? If so, I might skip that one!

That's a really packed day and very precisely planned out. I assume since you're going to CP and BBB, that you have at least one little one. I don't know the age(s)-- old enough for Space Mountain but young enough for Barnstormer--, but it's a lot you have planned.

I think you could easily skip either Astrorbiter or Speedway in the morning, the street party and dance party in the evening, CoP and TTA at night, and you may still be overbooked. Frankly, if it's just one child who can go on Space Mountain and 7DMT, Barnstormer isn't necessary either.

Last time I was there was a few years ago, but Cinderella was at Akershus, no Rapunzel, though. No idea about 4th FP to see her. You may want to consider FP for Dumbo, too. Also, a little girl may prefer IASW over Laugh Floor (though Laugh Floor is one of my faves).

This day is Fantasyland-heavy. Are you going another day to explore the left side of the park? If not, make it a priority on a future trip.

I see no need for lunch and dinner at BoG. Just get a CS lunch somewhere around where you are when you get hungry. The restaurant isn't going to change that mulch from day to night.

I know you know that the day isn't going to go exactly to plan. WDW is best when you leave some time to explore. There's amazing entertainment you'll encounter and people you'll meet. Leave time to enjoy.

I don't feel like wait times are taken into account at all. I know Feb is a slower time but to me this assumes that all rides will be walk ins which I don't think will be the case.

It's so tight that if you take one bathroom break your entire day is off!!

I agree it is a very packed day. I know for our family, there is zero chance we could do all that and have an enjoyable dinner at BOG at 9:05. Also, I doubt there is much chance you could eat at 9:05 and see Wishes at 10. Even if you are seated immediately, our dinners there have taken around 75-90 minutes I would guess.

Wayyy too packed and too precise. You won't even make your first ride after CP let alone the rest of the timetables. You really need to cut about half of that, otherwise you will be rushing all day and will be stressed out because you are missing and late for so much.

How young are your kids? There is no way DS (8 yrs) can go 8am to 10pm happily. We usually do rope drop and head back to hotel around 4pm for the day. Sure I would love to see evening stuff but just not possible while DS is younger.

Your plan is so precise and exact you are bound to be disappointed. CP can take more than 45 min and then your already off schedule! are you only in MK for one day? If so I would drop BBB as it takes away from rides (I say this as someone who has never done BBB). You also are missing out on key early
Morning low crowds by eating at CP during that time.

I would plan 3-4 things you MUST do to consider MK a successful day and then everything after that is bonus.

I'm not sure how old your kids are, but you'll be getting them up and out by 7 am and then staying out until midnight. When my kids were much younger, that would be way too long of a day for them…heck, I don't think we could handle that now! Can you have 2 MK days? One where you start early and one where you stay late?

Otherwise, I agree with the PPs, this is just too much and too tight of a schedule for one day. Personally, I would get rid of Astro Orbiter and Tomorrowland Speedway. We've never been on AO and I can't say that I've missed out, and TS takes FOREVER, even if the line isn't very long. It's such a huge time sucker for not that great (or long) of a ride. If you get rid of those two, that would give you a little more time to enjoy your breakfast, then do SM and Buzz. If you have time, I'd do COP THEN and skip the TTA UNLESS you need a relaxing break. Your day seems so frenzied that it doesn't seem like you'll be wanting to relax on the TTA-you'll be thinking about what you have to run off to next.

I would keep your FP around the times you have them. Good luck!

Tomorrowland Speedway. Found it boring as a kid, found it boring as a twenty-something guy. Not worth the wait, or the time IMO.

Never been a big fan of Dumbo or Astro Orbiter, if your kids aren't that into them you could skip them. Same with the Mad Tea Party.

The Barnstormer is a really dissapointing rollercoaster. If you are doing Space Mountain, you can probably skip this one.

Thanks everyone! This is our first time and possibly only time because of finances so i want to do as much as possible! This is using Touring plans with wait times, ride times, and walking times, and i do expect to take breaks, just trying to decide a good flow! Is the Touring Plans customized plan not good? This is our 2nd MK day so we are touring half of the park 1st day. I am just wanting to avoid walking back and forth too much between lands! If i do Dumbo FP I will have to give up another FP. We do expect to be off some on times and take a 2 hour break sometime. Just trying to figure out when! I have a 5 and 10 year old so Space Mountain for older one and Barnstormer for younger one! I am thinking break after we meet the princesses and the dance party and come back for some of Tomorrowland before our BOG dinner. That is the only time we could get BOG and we really want it!

Will there be two adults? You could maximize time by splitting up for an hour or so. One adult can take the 10-year-old on SM while the other takes the 5-year old on Barnstormer and potentially Dumbo. You can designate FPs for just certain members of your party.

Ask your kids what they really want to do and plan around that. You definitely have an efficient plan that minimizes walking back and forth. Cut the times out if the plan, keep the order, and eliminate about half of what you've planned. That will be more realistic.

Also, keep in mind that a 2 hour break doesn't mean 2 hours at the hotel. You're looking at at least one hour taken up with travel time. Most afternoon breaks end up being longer. You will come back.

Always keep this in mind. It may be 10 years down the line, but this will not be a once-in-a-lifetime trip. You can only do what you can do, so enjoy it!

We get that it may be the only time, but I think people are trying to let you know what it actually will be like.

Every time I've gone to MK i've seen kids crying and parents yelling. Once while walking down main street before a parade I heard this conversation:

Girl (about 5-7 years old): Mommy I need to go potty!
Mom: Just go in your pants!

Going to WDW is very exhausting and the truth is the more you do doesn't mean the more fun it is. There is a very real diminishing returns aspect to touring WDW.

Here's what I suggest:

Decide on 1-2 must-dos for each member of your family. Then plan those out along with your meals.

Let me just take one small example from your time sheet:

4) Astro Orbiter
10:18am

5) Tomorrowland Speedway
10:39am

6) The Barnstormer
11:13am

This will literally not happen. Literally. It is physically impossible to get in line for Astro Orbiter, ride Astro Orbiter, go to Speedway, Ride speedway, and walk to Barnstormer within 55 minutes. It will never happen. I don't care what you've read online. My daughter loves the speedway and loves astro orbiter. I've done them back to back many times. I've never done them both in under 60 minutes unless they are your first two attractions. Astro Orbiter is incredibly slow loading and it's at least a 20 minute wait all day after 9:30. So 20 minute wait, plus 2 minutes loading, plus 2 minutes ride, plus 5 minute walk to speedway is 29 minutes yet you've only budgeted 21 minutes. You can't do Astro Orbiter and walk to speedway within 21 minutes. It just can't be done unless you do it at rope drop.

So what are you going to do when you get to Astro Orbiter at 10:18, ride it, then ride speedway, and end up at Barnstormer at 11:45? You'll be 30 minutes behind schedule. Will your day be ruined? Will you start yelling at your kids to walk faster because you have a schedule to keep?

I've seen it happen time and again, parents dragging kids, yelling at kids, running with strollers through crowded walkways. It's just nuts.

If you go in with this list and you really expect to accomplish all this on schedule you will be in for a shock when your a half hour behind schedule by 11:00 AM.

If you want to maximize your fun you should focus on your must-do rides and meet and greets, and then throw in a couple others if time allows. You have to go in with the attitude of "If we can ride these 6 rides, have these 3 meals, and meet that princess it will be a great day".

My kids are 2, 4 and 6 and we have done MK form 8am to 11pm before without a break on several occasions. With your being 5 and 10 I think it is definitely doable esp if you have a couple of smaller breaks in park where you sit down somewhere.

I do agree with PP and this list is VERY full. I Highlights the items I would skip it is was me.

I'd think about crossing Barnstormer off your list.. even for your 5 year old. She'll probably love the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train ride, so there is still a coaster for her. My kids are thrill seekers, though, and loved space mountain and thunder mountain at age 5, and I don't know how daring your 5 year old is.

We're going for a once-in-a-long-while trip (our first as a family to WDW, though we've been to DL in California many times). We have picked a few "must-do's" for each family member. We know we can't see it all, even though we are going in a less-crowded time of year. We have talked to our kids and they understand that we won't be able to ride everything, and that even their favorite rides could be down on the day we visit (you never know when something could go down).

My 9 y.o. has picked Space Mountain, Splash, and 7 Dwarfs as his must-dos. My 7 y.o. is similar.. so we prioritized those rides for FP+ - We have a general touring plan, but not down to the minute (we are going to hit Fantasyland and Frontierland at rope drop, Tomorrowland in the afternoon).

Just be prepared to NOT make that schedule. Figure out which rides you can throw out when you are behind - like Barnstormer and the speedway and/or the astro-orbiter (unless those are your kids must-do's).

Here's some specific feedback on what to do and what to skip (in my opinion) to help

I'm an über planer and enjoy using Touring Plans customized plans to provide a general flow of my day. We always group Fantasyland and Tomorrowland together for example in one day and then Adventureland and Frontierland on another day. It gives me some idea of what to do in what order. BUT, you cannot use it to rely so heavily on exact times. It just isn't THAT accurate unless perhaps you are one adult by yourself that can really run and keep a full bladder. As far as your specific itinerary--

I'd skip Crystal Palace for breakfast. There is no way you will be seated, eat, pay for food, and make it to Space Mountain in 47 minutes. One slow waiter or being seated five minutes late (happens all the time, even at opening), and you're missing out on the BEST time of day to see attractions.

Astro Orbiter should be your first ride if you really want to do it, otherwise by 10:!8, the lines will be LONG, and it is slow loading. Now, my kids LOVE this ride, so it's literally the first thing we go to at rope drop since without fast pass, there is not other way to ensure you will get on quickly. And since no one else is racing over there, we often are the very first people to ride for the day. Then we go to Buzz where it's still possible to just walk on at 9:10 or so.

Why two meals at Be Our Guest in one day? There's so many other nice places to eat. If you want table service, consider Liberty Tree Tavern which isn't too far from you're already touring. If you want to do CS, you need to eat earlier in the day so you don't waste time waiting in line for food. I'd personally cancel the Crystal Palace breakfast and change it to lunch if you're set on Crystal Palace that day.

I'd skip BBB. It's expensive and time consuming. If your daughters don't know about it and aren't asking for it, just don't do it.

Consider an earlier dinner. No way you will make Wishes if you eat at 9:05. Plus your family will likely be ready to drop with exhaustion and hunger by then. The parks only get quieter later in the day. Consider eating at 5:00pm or so. By the time you get out at 6:15-6:30, lines for things like the Laugh Floor will be short to non-existent.

Thanks everyone! We really want a Pre-park ADR at CP to get pictures in front of the castle. This is our last day of our trip so we want to make the most of it. I have made a few changes and definitely will not do BOG twice. Just not sure if we will get the FP+ for lunch and will also keep trying to move up the dinner from 9:05, but that is all I could get for the week so I am keeping it for now since we want it for sure. I added in a two hour break which I know may end up being longer so that we can go back for dinner and at least the parade since we might not be able to make Wishes. Is there any other opportunities to meet Tinkerbell or Rapunzel besides the M&G? If not, we will try to make FP+ for them in the evening around 4 or 5 before our break. I think they will have to choose between them because the wait time is so long! We will also consider splitting up for DH to take younger DD on Astro Orbiter at RD and I will take 10 year old on Space Mountain!

We will also consider splitting up for DH to take younger DD on Astro Orbiter at RD and I will take 10 year old on Space Mountain!

Just be prepared that you still might not get to all of it. It's still a very packed day. If you leave at 6 for a break after that long of a day, your kids might be too tired and fight you about going back to the park. You risk getting charged for no show fee for BOG. If you really want the BOG at 9pm, consider taking your break right after the BBB appointment (or maybe not doing BBB at all). I just went on my first trip to WDW in August with my then 9 year old twin daughters. Here's how our first MK day went - got to MK around 8:15 for RD, saw welcome show, met Merida and did most of Fantasyland by 11:30, BBB at 11:45, then CRT for lunch at 1:20. I had planned a few activities after lunch but they were too pooped after that. Granted it was August and hot, but I still think if we went during a cooler time, they wouldn't have lasted much longer without a break. We went back to resort @ 2:30, took a nap and then went back to MK at 6:30-7 for parade and fireworks (no dinner ADR). Our final MK day we also had a pre-park CP ADR. I canceled it because we had a late night the night before. Instead we got there a little after 9, only had the three FP+ as our "must do's," ate lunch at BOG with a FP (couldn't get a dinner ADR, but the lunch FP was easy to get) and stayed until 3:30. I thought I'd be really be disappointed not having those amazing photos in front of the castle, but what I got in return - relaxed and happy kids, a looser schedule with little to no stress made it one of the the most magical days we had at WDW. Our MM photos prove it with all of us smiling and laughing. We did all kinds of impromptu things like meeting Pluto, looking in shops, re-riding favorite attractions, trading pins with CM's, riding attractions we hadn't planned on, including the carousel with Lady Tremaine and her daughters. So much fun! When we go back next summer, I'm only planning our days from about 9-1 and leaving the rest of the day loose with long breaks before the evening activities. As a semi-newbie with only one trip under her belt, that's my advice. Just think about your kids' stamina and try to reduce the idea of getting to it all. Honestly, I really didn't miss the pre-park opening CP meal in the end, didn't miss dinner at BOG because the lunch was wonderful (we sat near the snowy window) and my daughters pulled out their BBB hairstyles after about an hour because they were "too tight." Hope you have a wonderful trip!

Thanks! I am yt? hinking maybe we need another 1/2 day at MK to do more and take longer breaks our other 2 days!

Here's my 2 cents. For a bit of background, we've been in February several times and you can get a lot done in a single day at Magic Kingdom (unless that day is a Saturday). I haven't used Touring Plans, but the simple fact that website indicated you could eat breakfast at CP and be on Space Mtn 45 minutes later is a huge red flag. You might not be seated until 10-20 minutes past your reservation time and might not see the characters until 30 minutes after you are seated. So, with respect to your plan:

Fast Pass +
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train 12:00
Enchanted Tales with Belle 1
Anna & Elsa 3

Your Plan Steps
1) The Crystal Palace
8:05 am

2) Space Mountain

3) Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin

4) Carousel of Progress - skip

5) The Barnstormer - skip

6) Dumbo the Flying Elephant - skip

7) Mad Tea Party - skip (we've never been on Dumbo and Mad Tea Party you can probably ride later in the day with little wait)

8) The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh - ride this immediately after Buzz, though if there is a long line wait until later in the evening

9) Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
FastPass+ reservation.
12-1

10)Lunch BOG or elsewhere - I'd probably eat lunch at Columbia Harbor House or Village Haus. You need to eat lunch as soon as you are done with 7 Dwarfs so that you can make the next two FPs.

11) Enchanted Tales with Belle
FastPass+ reservation. 1-2

12) BBB
2:20pm for 70 minutes

13) Meet Anna and Elsa at Princess Fairytale Hall
FastPass+ reservation. 3-4

14) Meet Tinkerbell at Town Square Theater
or meet Cinderella and Rapunzel at Princess Fairytale Hall

15) Dream Along With Mickey if we can make it
5:15pm

16) Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It! Street Party
5:40pm If we are not too tired! - I'd skip this because we didn't find it too interesting, but others might disagree.

Break- Leave park 6:00 - where are you staying? If you stay for Move It and then walk to the front of the park, and then catch transportation, and then want to be back at MK at 8:00 you might be looking at riding a bus to the resort then immediately catching the next bus back.

17)Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor 8:00 or 8:30 - we love Monsters Inc. It looks like you will have used your 3 FPs by this point so think about booking more.

18) Be Our Guest Restaurant
9:05pm

19) Wishes Nighttime Spectacular- Will try to catch part of it!

20) Main Street Electrical Parade
10:45pm

I think you are missing the 4 of best rides at MK (unless you caught them prior days) - Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain (if not closed for refurb), Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion (as well as Peter Pan and Mickey's Philharmagic). If you are concerned about the fear factor then skip Haunted Mansion, but if your kids can ride Space Mountain then Big Thunder is not to be missed, and Splash Mountain is probably the best ride at MK. Also don't see Jungle Cruise listed which is probably a nostalgic favorite. Check out Easywdw.com for ride reviews/info and potential touring plans.

I'm planning 2 1/2 days in MK for our next trip. Like the pp said, check out easywdw. I used a combo of both on my trip, but found easy wdw made more sense.
