Can someone explain to me what exactly comes with the MK photo shoots? Im trying to justify it to DF :rolleyes1 but I have to know the facts, ect, so justify paing $1100.00 or so additional. Thanx! And, if you have pix, please post them so I can show DF how great and unique they are, thanks. :thumbsup2

With the MK photo shoot you get:

  • the photo shoot (duh :lmao:)
  • a 4 x 6 copy of each of the pictures
  • a proof book of all the pictures
  • the choice of 12 pictures in an album.

In our opinion, it was totally worth the money and the inconvenience of getting up so early. Some of our favorite pictures are from the shoot. Plus they're so unique and definitely a little touch of Disney.

If you want to check out my pictures they're here. We added Epcot too for an additional $300

The downside is that you do not get digital copies of the photos. To get them it is an additional $750. Unless you are more patient than I am and can wait 3 years and then it is reduced.

Expensive yes, but for us... we're extremely glad we did it.

Wow your pictures look great! I saw that they also do shoots at the Hollywood Studios...I wonder if anyone has done a bridal shoot there??

A few years ago Disney was taking lack-luster photos for brides during their MK shoot. But I can honestly say that they really seemed to have stepped up and I haven't seen a bad shoot in quite a while. It's expensive, but it really is a unique wedding opportunity. :goodvibes

I asked DH for advice on this, and he said "just tell him this is something that you really want and would make you happy".

We did it because we had already decided that photography was very important, and you're not likely to see bridal MK shots coming and going. Unless you frequent the disboards that is. ;)

As I wrote on another thread, what we didn't think about at first but ended being one of the #1 reasons why we were happy we did it was because of how it was something just for us. Everything else we'd done for or during the wedding was always with our guests in mind. This was something that was just the two of us, for us to enjoy privately. We didn't have to share it with anyone.

Some of our pictures are in my PJ, with the link below. If you'd like to see more, just pm me and I'll send you a link.

Ok, here's a question that I haven't yet seen asked - is the MK shoot ONLY for the bride and groom? Or, suppose the couple has children, would they be allowed to participate as well?

I've heard of other couples getting permission to have their child with them.

That's interesting... all of Disney's literature explicitly states that the photoshoot is for the bride and groom only and that no one else may be present...

In one of the recent MK shoot threads (there's been a few lately) a bride posted that she got permission to have her soon to be stepdaughter at the shoot. I'm on my phone so I can't search for it.

Initially when we decided on a Disney wedding I was not going to do the MK shoot. (I'm not "princessy") But the more I thought about it, the more I realized what a fantastic experience it would be. It would give our wedding that "quintessential Disney" photo that we wouldn't have had otherwise. The shoot itself was so fun and even though I had the beginnings of pneumonia (yeah- that's fun on your honeymoon;)) it truly was a fantastic time. I loved seeing DH's reaction to the empty park and the fact we drove in a van down Main Street. I used to dance there so I'd seen it before, but seeing HIS reactions was priceless. We have great memories from the morning and that same night we went to MVMCP and seriously had the best time trying to remember...and arguing:rolleyes1...over which carousel horse was "ours". (we took pics of our guesses and when we got our proofs neither was right! :lmao:) So beyond the memories we have beautiful photos that we will enjoy for years to come.

Hope that's enough reasoning to get your DF on board! :cutie:

Then that must be a new change because we were told absolutely not. Which was fine. DD was in the wedding and the MK shoot was just us, so it made it very intimate and special.

Hey, we are still over a year away so we havnt decided on our photos just yet, i am undecided about MK photos, we are getting married in wedding pavillion, followed by our reception at epcot living seas, I take it from all these posts that you have to have the MK pics done first thing in the morning? I dont really like the idea of my hubby to be seeing me (in THE dress) before walking down the aisle! I guess it would have to be before the park opens, is this the only option if we wanted to go for MK?

kirstyc822- Typically the shoots are done on a different morning after your wedding day. Some couples choose to do it the morning of their wedding, but most don't. There are extra fees having it on a seperate morning (bouquet refresh, hair and make-up, extended tux rental) but all those are worth it if you want that "first look" moment as you walk in the WP. It was fun to wear my dress again on a different day too! Good Luck! Happy Planning! :goodvibes

The only option that I am aware of is before the park opens, but they do it on a different day. When I had my planning sessions, my planner asked me how long we were staying in Disney, so that if we were going to be there for a while, we had some options as to which day we do the shoot. The florists will keep your bouquet in the flower fridge thing and freshen it up for you or they can make you a whole new bouquet if you want.

We did an DHS/MK shoot several years ago and loved it. We were married at Epcot though, so we already had shots in the World Showcase. We had pictures in front of Rock'n Rollercoaster, Tower of Terror, Mickey's Sorcerer Hat, Chinese Theater, Muppets Courtyard, and New York Street plus shots along the way. They also said that you could do Star Wars or anywhere else in the park, but we aren't Star Wars fans. I don't have many copies of the pictures since they aren't online anymore, but here are some from our camera. I can't wait until next year on our 3 year anniversary when I can buy the CD at a reduced rate :thumbsup2

I love Wizard of Oz, so I wanted a picture by the Judy Garland prints (DH was off to the side of the photograher, so the real picture is much better ;))

After receiving a few PMs I took some shots of my album of the pictures from DHS, so I am going back and adding them to old threads to help future brides.

The photographer was really flexible in where we wanted to go for shots. He said we could go to Star Wars or other areas in the park that fit our interests (as you can see I picked the Wizard of Oz block and we also picked the Mupplet Courtyard.)

I just posted a ton of pics from our shoot in my PJ. Click on the link in my sig. I loved having the shoot. It was a great experience for me and my DH. We had so much fun being at one of our favorite places pretty much by ourselves.

I say go for it!
