When do most people do their Magic kindom photo session???
Do they do it the morning of the wedding (and void the whole don't see you till the cermony thing?) Or do they do it after the wedding (hey i've been up all day and am so tired.....need more make up) thing?

What did you do? Would you do that way again?
What would you choose to do?

Thanks!

The MK Photo Shoot is only done in the mornings. They pick you up around 6am. You don't have to do it the morning of the wedding though. We didn't. We didn't want to see each other before the ceremony either. We chose to do it the next morning.

Also, they only do ONE MK Photo shoot per day. So you might want to reserve the day you want it early enough that it doesn't get booked. And yes, it is totally worth the money. Those are my favorite pictures out of all of our pics.

We didn't want to see each other before our wedding, and did not want to wake up a few hours after our reception so we did ours 2 days later. I would recommend it to anyone. We had no problem with keeping the tux and the flowers still looked perfect.

We did ours 2 days after the wedding also. If possible, I would have done it a day or two later, but those dates were already booked when we decided we wanted the session.

We did ours the morning of our wedding. We wanted the photo session to count towards are minimums, and thus it had to be done the day of our wedding.

We worked with DPS to make the moment John saw me in my wedding dress special. We arranged to have them come earlier than usual. They picked up John from his resort, and then came to get me at the AKL. They had John wait outside, while our photographer (Mike) came in. He set me up around the corner in the AKL lodge and then set up the camera. Then my mom went out to tell John to come in. We thus got pictures of John's expression when he saw me, and a few pictures of the two of us together.

I wouldn't change it for the world. The moment we saw each other at the ceremony was still super special (we separated after the pics and didn't see each other again till the ceremony) and charged with emotion. But the moment we saw each other in our wedding attire was all our own - we got to share it together, in an intimate special way. It was great. I wouldn't have changed that for the world.

We then went to have our castle pictures done.

We did ours 3 days after the wedding, as we didn't want to see each other before the ceremony. This worked out great!

Does anyone know if you can hire this service even if you don't get married at WDW? I would love to have it done during my honeymoon (still deciding if we will honeymoon at WDW, but if I can schedule this, that may make my decision for me!) :)

THANKS!

whimsysoda you can only do this if you got married at Disney. As of now Swan/Dolphin brides are not allowed this package.

We did our photo shoot the morning after the wedding. I was so glad because it's hard keeping your dress dry and clean. If we had a night wedding I might have done the pictures 2 days after the wedding because it's tough getting up and ready for the 6:00 a.m. pick up.

Firefly Girl- We have our MK photo shoot scheduled 3 days after also!! And I was wondering how you kept your flowers fresh and was your dress still pressed from the wedding day? Also did you have a dessert reception? If you did, did your dress get dirty? Thanks in advance!!

Thanks everyone for letting me know how you did it.
Can I hear from anyone else? *bump*

We are doing ours the morning of. I want him to see me in my dress before hand because I know I will be nervous walking down the aisle and I want to pay attention to his Wow response. I am not going to wear my veil and tiara and my hair will be different for the evening ceremony but I will have the dress on at least. :)

Evilina, I had my florist make a silk copy of my bouquet to use for the MK shoot, it cost about $80 and is still nice and fresh on my nightstand! The dress looked fine, after all it doesn't get that wrinkly just wearing it and I hung it up after the wedding. The train did get a bit dirty from walking around on the BoardWalk but you can't tell in the pictures at all. HTH!

we did our MK Portrait session two days after the wedding. it was convenient to us because we were scheduled to have breakfast at CRT at 8:50 in the morning. so, with us up and ready early in the morning, there was no worries of us getting late for breakfast. that's what we did. we scheduled the portrait session on a day that was convenient for us. good luck. it's a lot of fun. you'll enjoy it forever. and the pictures come out wonderful.

Did you have to go back to your resort to get changed before your breakfast at CRT? :earsgirl:

We did ours the day after and I'm really glad we did.

They wet down the streets of MK in the morning to clean them and my train got very dirty. I suppose I could have hiked it up more, but I was glad that I didn't have to worry about it.

It's also very early. I think we got up at 4am (well, mostly me) for hair and makeup to come. So depending on what time your ceremony is, it could be a very long day.

Also, our MK photo shoot had some snags and by the end of it we were both a little cranky. (I think it was partially the early hour too :rotfl: )

I had fresh flowers in my bouquet and floral did something called "refresh and redeliver". It was 2+ years ago, so I forget the cost. Basically they took my bouquet from the reception (after pics) and replaced any droopy flowers and re-delivered it the next morning along with a new boutinere for DH.

What is the cost for the MK portrait session??

I have been debating about adding this on. DH2B is not going to be wearing a tux and I am not wearing a tradtional wedding dress, so I can't decide if we should do the photo shoot.

The MK Photo Session is $800, but is usually done with a bride's dress and tux.

You can do a Honeymoon Photo Session in any of the four parks for $295.
