Hi All!

:wave2:

I'm new to the DIS Boards so please forgive my ignorance if this is a question that has been answered many times before, but I was just wondering if anyone had pricing information for the wedding photos done in front of the castle??

Thanks in advance for your help!

Sorry I can't help you with the pics question but I just wanted to say WELCOME TO THE DIS PRYNCESS!

The Magic Kingdom photo session is $725.00 and only one couple per day is allowed to do the package. It's an incredible experience! We did it the morning after our wedding, it was tough getting up so early but the pictures were worth it. You get picked up in your hotel lobby at 6:00 am. I would not advise doing it before your ceremony because the bottom of your dress will get very dirty.

We are having our photos done infront of the castle, Our session starts earlier, we begin at 5am. I think my hair is being done sometime around 2 or 3, the day after as well, since my Df and I do not want to see eachother before the wedding..

$725, that's not that bad for what you're getting! If you think about, only 365 people a year are able to have this type of experience, I think this is something I definitely need to try to save for!

Can you tell me what you get for that? How long is the session, how many photos you get, etc?

Thanks so much for all of your help! :earsgirl:

The session lasts about an hour. They take between 50 and 70 pictures I think. They send you a 4x5 copy of all of the pictures that are taken. 12 of those 4x5's are in a tri-fold album, that has the DFTW logo on it. Your photographer will pick the 12 that go in the album, however it is really easy to replace them with ones that you like better (which is what I did ;))

That sounds so magical! Okay, that was corny, but it really does.

HMGolden - I LOVE your pic, that is GORGEOUS!!

We did this 2 days after our wedding. Sure didn't want to get up at 4:00 AM for hair and makeup the morning after our wedding night. It was $725, plus the $150 for the 4 AM hair and makeup. But it was so worth it!! My husband still brings up (jokingly, I think:D ) the $1000 dollars we spent to get up at the crack of dawn and get all dressed up, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. You get a 4" x 5" copy of every picture they take (we got 69), and you get a white binder that holds 12. We then bought an 11"x14" of us in front of the castle, an 8"x10" of us on the carrousel, and 2 5"x7"s of us in Cinderellas castle (*an additional $125). Look at as many people's photo sessions on the internet as you can before you go for your session, b/c each photographer has a few different locatios that he likes, and if some of them strike your fancy you can askyour photographer to do them also. I love our pictures, and as much as I love them I saw a few poses later that I really wish I had had him snap. But I can't complain, we got almost 70 great pictures, and how many people have them in front of the castle.

That's a great idea! Thanks so much for the tips! You all are getting me so excited for this. I can't believe I have as many days left as I do.............

i know that a few people have posted their pics before, but i would love to see them again too!!

We did our photos at EPCOT, and did them 2 days after so we wouldn't have to get up early after our wedding night... The link to them is posted in the photo links thread, but here it is again:

ahutton, your pics are beautiful! We were thinking of having the photo session for our VR in June, but my DH thought the price too much since the VR is costing us quite a bit. But after seeing your pics at Epcot and seeing the price difference, maybe...

If we hire Randy Chapman to do our day, can we still get the MK photo session with DPS? Or do we have to use DPS for both?

You can have Randy Chapman photograph your wedding, and do the MK Castle Photo shoot. That's what we did for our intimate wedding, and it worked wonderfully. I thought DPS was too expensive for the wedding photos, but you don't ahve a choice for the MK Photo shoot, and I really wanted that.

Great!! Yes that is one of the main reasons why we want to get married at wdw. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited!!! :Pinkbounc :hyper:

Eventhough Disney does not let you book your wedding until 1 year out, can I book the photography session ahead of time?

How far in advance can a MK photo shot be scheduled? Do you have to have your wedding booked first?
And, do you have to put a deposit down (if so, how much?), or did you have to pay for the whole thing upfront??

Sorry to ask so many questions! I'm just SOO excited!! :hyper2:

I think they are online for another month or so.

I'm not sure how soon after the 1 year mark you can book the session, as we did it during our planning session 6 months before the wedding, but I do think that your SM will be able to book it for you.

As far as payment, for custom weddings the cost can be included on your BEO, and then payment would be do 30 days before the wedding. I think you can also pay for it seperately with a credit card or check 30 days before.

Very nice hmgolden!!! Now I have questions . . . :) How long did your photo session last? Did you have to pay extra to have the pics inside the castle? Was it just you and your DH and the photographer or was there other people there? Did you have to walk down mainstreet or did you ride something to get you to the castle (cart or something)? Could you have taken pictures also on Mainstreet? Did your dress get REALLY dirty? AND last but not least! Did you have someone steam your dress the morning of or was it still okay from the wedding? Okay I think I've asked enough :)
