How much does it cost to park at MK if we’re guests at AoA and when does parking lot opens? For our MK day, we have an early reservation at CRT (8:05am). I know there are buses to bring us there but we would like to have the car close for when hubby leaves early that evening with our youngest while I stay with my big girl for Wishes (we’ll go back with the bus).

Parking is free for Disney resort guests. You'll have no problem parking before your 8:05 reservation (we parked at 7:30 am on our last trip, and the lots are open well before that). As a bonus, when you get there that early, you'll get a great spot right in front of the TTC!

ETA: When you plan your arrival time, make sure you factor in the time you will need to take the monorail from the TTC to the entrance of Magic Kingdom. I believe that the express monorail doesn't start running until 8:00, so you'll need to take the resort monorail, which will stop at the monorail resorts before arriving at Magic Kingdom. I'd plan 20 - 30 minutes to get from the parking lot to the gates.

Parking at all parks is free for resort guests for the length of their stay. You will get a parking pass at check-in to be placed on your dashboard. They'll wave you through the parking plaza when they see it.

I believe parking for onsite guests is free. And I think the lots open an hour before the park. (I could be wrong about the second thing)

Ahh, so the lots are open well over an hour before the parks? Good to know. I'm staying at CBR in April and was debating driving or taking the bus.

I was thinking of getting to the lot for 7:15am so we have plenty of time to clear bag checks and can enjoy the empty Main Street on our way to CRT.

Remember the car isn't really that close at MK - he will still have to take the monorail or ferry from the TTC. You may avoid the tram if you get a close spot since you are early, but you can't avoid the monorail or ferry.

Yup Free Parking!! (Like in Monopoly..only better) :woohoo:

And yes, do plan on allowing time for the Ferry or Monorail.

At what time does the monorail start? It's just that I want to be more in control of our schedule and feel that waiting for the bus at the resort counter-productive. And I have fond memories of taking the ferry or monorail to arrive at MK.

We stayed at the AoA in October 2012 and had a early reservation at the CRT in the MK. There was a very early bus from the AoA which I believe left around 6:30 to drop guests off at the monorail resorts for early breakfasts. It dropped us at The Contemporary and we walked from there. You would also be able to get dropped off at the Grand Floridian and just take the resort monorail from there, the MK would be the next stop.

Your post said you want to drive to have the car available but consider when you leave the MK, you still have to ride the monorail or the boat back to the TTC, and then walk to your car or ride the shuttle, which may still drop you a distance from your car. You might want to consider bus transport for your husband and youngest; when you are tired at the end of a long day, the walk to that bus shelter is usually much easier than the alternative. Enjoy your visit!
