MK Opening Time

I have been reading in books to prepare for our first trip. The book says the MK Main Street opens 1/2 hour before the park. Listed park opening is 9:00AM. Is that still the case. Does anyone has strategies for getting there for the opening.

From what I saw in October, the parks were not opening earlier than the scheduled time except for the "extra hour" entries and for certain tours and people who had early character meal reservations. If you want to be among the first there, just get up early and be there early. You'll have to wait at the gates with the other early birds. It really is the best time to be in the parks - I love going early - and I am a NIGHT OWL!!
