MK open until midnight now. Where's the EMH perk?

My teenaged girls would LOVE having MK open until 3am! They could sleep late, hang out by the pool, take their time getting ready, then hit MK sometime around 7pm for a late dinner and stay up all night!

Me, on the other hand, have trouble staying awake past 10pm!!! lol.

I think Disney's new EMH evening hours are great. Alot of people don't like waking up early for the morning EMH days.

I have to say I'm a little disappointed that the hours have changed for President's week. Now with MK being opened until midnight that means no EMH for resort guest. One reason why we stay onsite is for this perk. I would rather have MK close at 9 or 10pm to the public and have extra hours for resort guests. Does this seem fair that they are taking away our perk?
I'm sure everyone staying off-site is very happy. I would be too.

So what you want is during a holiday season, one of Disney's busy times, they should close the park early so the resort guests can have extra time?

Holidays & Summer Disney will ALWAYS keep the parks open longer to all guests. The more guests in the parks, the more money they are making.

Now during slower times, they will close the parks early to general admission & keep it only for EMH resort guests only.

If you want the EMH earlier (meaning MK closing at 10 & EMH for 3 hours), don't go during a holiday week.

If you go during a holiday week you have to expect later general admission hours & bigger crowds.

So this raises a question: Are you still going to stay at a Disney resort even though they have taken away this important perk or are you going to change your reservations and stay offsite?

Since you have stayed at MK before until the late/early hour of 3 a.m. I assume this was in the summer, correct? How crowded is the park after the regular closing. Now I have to decide if we want to get hoppers because everyone is telling me to avoid the park duiring the regular operating hours that is having an EMH be it morining or evening. I was going to take their advice and maybe just hop over to MK for the evening EMH. Having never been to DW in the summer I'm not sure if EMH (late hours) will be a must do. I do have one day left on a hopper and had planned on using it our last day which happens to be MK late night EMH. Do you think we need to utilize EMH for EPCOT? Not concerned with MGM or AK.

Gee I'm starting to wish I didn't post now. LOL

Because I've already prepaid for points I'm definitely keeping my reservation at the BCVillas.

I would love to be able to take advantage of EMH from 12:00am - 3:00am but I don't think my boys could really stay awake past midnight. I guess we'll try and see. The next day can be a down day for us.

When I stayed in the park until 3am it was at the MK during Easter Break. Back then it was an e-ride night. E-ride nights were only done at the MK. As far as early entry in the mornings go, my family has always gone to the park that opens early and then we hop to another park in time for their opening time.

I can understand the OP's frustration. I just have to say that we stayed at the GF over Thanksgiving and the MK was open until Midnight that week also (no EMH yet). It was WONDERFUL!!! We would go after Wishes and the place would be EMPTY!! We had walkons for almost everything!! I hope you find the same situation with Presidents week. It seemed like everyone just poured out of the park after the 10pm wishes and we were the only ones entering. Those nights were just some of our best visits to the MK ever!! We had a blast! So take advantage of the evening hours even if they aren't EMH hours. You may be really pleasantly surprised.

Have fun!!

My favorite trips to Disney have been when I can stay late at a park. I have a 12 and 6 yr old and both hate getting up early, even as babies. They would rather stay up to 1:00 am and sleep until 10:00am get up eat, swim when it is too hot to breath and around 4:00 get showered head to a park til closing. We did a few enight last summer this way and they were never cranky or tired. When I used to feel like we had to make to the park by opening, it was a fight to wake them up, get dressed, eat and get over there, that is seemed more like I was punishing them.

This is why they have early hours and late- it makes everybody happy. :earsboy:
