I'm doing a happy dance. I was able to book a last minute vacation for our family for labor day weekend.

My question is this. We have only one day to go to MK.

Which day do you think the crowds will be more managable?

Go Sunday for early entry but there is spectromagic and fireworks that night. Will the extra parade and fireworks really make the crowds really bad.

Or should we go on Monday (Labor day). There are no fireworks or spectromagic plus shorter hours. Do you thing the crowds will be less or the same since it is the actual holiday day?

I hope this makes sense. IT will be me, DH, DD = 6, and DS -4 going on this trip. I"ve booked us a room at the Movies for the trip.

Thanks a bunch.

We just returned from WDW and MK was packed on Sunday. In some areas it was wall to wall people. On the long weekend, maybe people will be traveling home on Labor Day itself since kids need to get back to school and MK would be less crowded. Of course the down side is you don't get to see the parade or fireworks if you are interested. If you get there early and use fast pass, either day would probably be manageable. Even on the packed Sunday, we were able to do everything we wanted by arriving early and using fast pass. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Since EE was reinstated last October and Sunday became an MK day, Sundays have been more crowded at MK than in the past.

If Memorial Day weekend of this year is a good proxy, then I would guess that Monday will be lighter. Memorial Day itself was considerably lighter than the Sunday the immediately preceeded it. There's a good chance the same will hold true for Labor Day.

What has me most perplexed about that weekend right now is the lack of Nighttime entertainment on the Saturday of the weekend. Right now, the official website shows Disney-MGM Studios closing at 6pm with not Fantasmic and MK (although closing at 10pm) having no Spectromagic. If that remains unchanged, it will be the first time I can ever remember not having either Spectro or MSEP on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend.
