MK on Sept 2 - Early Closing?

What's going on at MK on Sept 2? The park is closing at 7:00pm. Is there an event going on that evening? Is open to the Public?

Not necessarily true. In 2014, the first party was Sept 1st. Last year they started later, but the September parties were MUCH more crowded than in years previous. I wouldn't be surprised to see the parties start early this year.

I was wondering if it's worth it to go to MK that day. It has Magic Hours in the morn.

If I had ADR for a late dinner, how late would I be able to stay at the park?

I would be thrilled, but I highly doubt that a Halloween party would start the Thursday before labour day weekend.

Well we know it isn't Night of Joy... so my guess is it's either MNSSHP, or they will amend the hours later on to their regular schedule. That happens a lot too.

Book the latest ADR you can if you'd like. They won't rush you out. If they do revise their hours til say 10pm, later ADR's will become available to book.

Two years ago the first MNSSHP was at the beginning of September, but most years it has been around mid-month. If there is a Halloween party on Sept 2 and the park closes at 7:00PM you will be able to make a dinner reservation anytime before 7 PM if you don't have tickets to the party. You will not be rushed through dinner, but once you are finished dining you will be escorted to the front gate by a Castmember.

Well we were trying to book BOG for Sept 1st, and the last reservation is 6pm. We called Disney and were told that it is probably MNSSHP but dates weren't confirmed yet. I truly can't believe it would start before labor day. I think that is way too early.

Only reason I could see for MNSSHP before Labor Day is that they could probably count on business from parents who's kids don't start back to school until after Labor Day. It still feels wrong though and can you imagine how hot it will be? We did the last Friday in September this past year and it was stick and sweaty and it rained........

Every year it seems, WDW leaves some things on the early Sept schedule "hanging" so they can add another MNSSHP if the late Sept / Oct parties start filling up.
----Another big question is why no Wishes/Elec Parade from 9/5-9/24(?). -----

Several of us on disboards had a terrible time of it buying tix to Wishes Dessert Party for Sept '14 bc WDW would NOT allow tixs to be sold for a 7-10 day time slot in case they needed a few of those nights for a MNSSHP. (This was in March/April of '14 and well into our window for buying the Dessert Party tix.) Of course it took dozens of us calling over and over and speaking to dozens of different CM's before we got one who spoke with her supervisor who actually followed through and got to the bottom of the situation before we found out that this was the reason. Most phone CMs aren't privy to info regarding WDW "front office" tactics.

I think once WDW decides they have enough MNSSHP scheduled for the demand this year, then .....and only then..... we will have a concrete schedule to work off of.

Disney did the same thing last year with the calendar far in advance showing a 7pm closing on Sept 2nd

DISers spent weeks last year speculating about a possible a MNSSHP for that night and other nights that also listed 7pm closing in early Sept

My Disney travel agent last year told me don't believe the hype. There will not be a MNSSHP before Labor Day. Labor Day was late last year and will be late again this year.

Just like last year very soon I am sure Disney will update the MK schedule for Sept 2 and the park will close at its normal time which i think was 10 last year. Other dates also listed for a 7 pm closing will also change and the MNSSHP dates will be added to mid Sept thru Oct

OP i would plan accordingly.
