3 weeks ago on a Saturday everything and I mean everything was a walk on at 11:30 am. I walked on to Splash and then BTMRR and there were no waits anywhere.
Saturday before last was a totally different animal. POTC had a 30 min wait and lines were horrible everywhere!
This past Saturday I wasn't taking any chances so I didn't go.
It's a hard call. IF you have hoppers you can always hit another park if it's crazy. Truly no one can predict crowds anymore.

I thought that info was available to everyone. I have not joined and have seen that info. Or, was that on another site?

Last Saturday was a mess with crowds. 100 min wait for POTC. I think that was because of Columbus Day weekend. However, we typically go on a Saturday. Since EMH doesn't fall on a saturday at mk, it's pretty decent to be there. Generally the park is yours until the crowds arrive around 2pm, then it can get more crowded. A few years ago, Sunday was the day to hit MK, but in recent years, Saturdays are better than Sundays.

You are right, the crowd blog on the site is available to everyone and lists crowd level numbers and recommends which parks to go to on a particular day and which to avoid. I don't think you did anything wrong. My opinion is that if you can get to MK during the week, that would be preferred. I would especially avoid MK on Sat if the night before the park closed early for a party.

We were there Sat. Sept. 30th and Oct. 7th. Both days were absolute mad houses! I don't know if every Sat. is like that, but if it is avoid the Magic Kingdom! The other days were were there the parks were great, no lines really.

Although you would think Saturday would traditionaly be a busy day at the MK, most people use that day as a transitional day for travel. A lot of folks are coming to the World or leaving the World to return home and most people skip the parks on that day.

Also, with Food and Wine going on over at EPCOT a lot of the locals go there for that event on weekends. This leaves the MK with smaller crowds than usual. You just gave our secret out as we are planning on attending the MK on Oct. 21st knowing that the crowds will be lighter than usual there. :)

Good luck with your planning and enjoy your trip!

Last year we attended MK on a Saturday.......NEVER AGAIN. :crazy2:

However, let me give a little more detail. It was when Hurricane Wilma hit and many folks and schools from farther South were without utilities. So, many families headed up to WDW while things got worked on. We were told that is why everything, not just MK, was so awfully crowded. If that holds true maybe a Saturday won't be so bad, but I would be ready to park hop.

I prefer Epcot on Saturdays and MK on Tuesdays. If you have a hopper pass, you could go back over to MK at night.

Thanks everyone for your help .... I was getting worried. By the way, I posted nothing that was not public information posted on their website. But to those who were worried ... I will edit my post.

The OP was talking about TourGuide MiKE, I think you've confused it with Touring Plans. At least I'm pretty sure that's the site you're thinking of, not TGM. ;)

I find this rather funny. Many have posted this before and the OP never got flamed, I thought everyone was greeted with a smile here. :confused3 Well, the last time I checked that's how it was done. I have read many people always posting, "Tour Guide Mike says..." or "According to Tour Guide Mike..." or something else of the sort and NEVER and I truly mean that NEVER have I heard a response like that.

Anyway, OP whenever I go to Magic Kingdom it is a Saturday because I do go on 1 - day visits. It does get crowed but it is not overly crowed. I actually enjoy it. No, not everything is a walk on - it wouldn't really be Disney if everyone was. However, there are not long waits either. Lately, for some ODD reason I have noticed the longest waits on all my visits was Peter Pan, and to be honest - I dont think this attraction is all what it used to be. At times the wait for this attraction is 60 to 70 minutes, the lowest I ever seen was 50 minute wait. While Splash Mountain only had a 20 or so.

Enjoy your time.

I'm a paying member at TGM's site and have read the agreement. I think there might be a gray area in what one might consider his intellectual property and what one might consider just good old fashioned common sense. That being said, I don't understand why a third party would come into a thread and ask the OP to delete a message? What business is it of theirs? :confused3

Absolutely right! I was running the two together, my bad, I confuse easily. Thanks for setting me straight!

I'm just curious, but do Tour Guide Mike subscribers get some of the their money back for being the TGM police? :)

Ooh your right, it was from Touring Plans -- it was just from the crowd calendar ... I get it all so confused. I felt really bad and was trying to figure out what I did wrong when anyone could see that info. Thanks for helping clarify after I got flamed and thanks to everyone for their great advice. Whoo hoo leaving tomorrow!!! :woohoo:
