We (me, DH, DD-8, DS5) just booked a short trip to POP 8/26 (Fri) for 3 nights - we got a great DING fare and had to take advantage of the free dining. Here the plan I've come up with but I want suggestions on whether to change the Sat/Sun plans:

Fri - arrive MCO at 10:30, get to POP around noon (ME), hang out at pools, check out resort, go to Chef Mickey's for dinner

Sat - Typhoon Lagoon, Whispering Canyon for dinner

Sun - MK, try to get early PS (ADR) for Crystal Palace so we can hopefully get in park before opening

Mon - flight is at 6:30pm, so we should have until 3:00 to hang out at POP and probably go to Downtown Disney.

I figure these are 3 pretty good choices for the dining plan TS meals - it will get us some character time on a date we're not going to parks, and will get us somewhere we haven't been (WC).

Any suggestions/input would be appreciated!

Stacie,

They say to avoid water parks on the weekends because of the locals. Since you don't have time to get there on a weekday, get there at opening on Sat.

I think Sunday is a good choice for MK. MK is open late on Sat. Alot of people will be there - late - on Sat. night, so Sunday morning may be quiet.

Good luck! We'll be there too. Not in any of the places you have chosen (doing MK on Sat - not sure that's a great idea and BB during the week).

Have fun!

Anna

Thanks. I usually avoid the water parks on weekends for the very reason you mention - but this is our first time going for a long weekend. We have 3 "pluses" left on hoppers we used in January so I figured while it is hot in August we might as well try a water park. We'll plan to get there at opening and stay a few hours (or longer if we can stand it!).

I picked Suday at MK because the park hours were shorter and I'm hoping that means a little smaller crowd. It won't really matter too much, as long as we can get to a few of our favorites--we were there in January and I just booked a condo this morning for next April.
