MK on NYE with One-Day Ticket

We have APs and were planning on going to MK on NYE now that we live down here. There's a good chance we won't be living here next year, and we won't ever come to Disney at Xmas for a vacation, so this is probably our only chance. However.. my MIL decided to extend her visit with us and will be here for NYE. She's willing to come with us, but she'd just have a one-day ticket.

What are the chances of getting in to MK later in the day? We really don't care about any rides, we just want to see the fireworks. She has mobility issues so would probably just sit with me and hold our spot. We really don't want to spend the whole day there.. with our APs, we knew we'd be able to get in later than most and weren't too worried about closures. Now...

We have never done Disney during this week, so any advice on what to expect re: closures would be great.

My best guess; she'll need to be in side the park by 11AM.

MK reached Phase 2 closure last year, and Phase 3 each of the five years before that. With a one-day ticket, she'll get locked out at Phase 1.

If she has a dining reservation, she'll get in up to Phase 3, which might be good enough to get in later.
