  • Neither! I'd rather just do without MK Fireworks and go during the day.

Hello all!

My trip is from Sept 9th to Sept 18th and I have been having a difficult time planning a day in MK. This year since our focus is food we decided to save money and dine at a signature restaurant instead of going to a Halloween party. Whats making my plans difficult are the other parks in priority and the reservations I have. As of right now I have it so that we don't see the fireworks at all in the parks and only go to MK during the day on Sunday)

My current plans are:
9/9 Sun: Arrive at Beach club. Epcot
9/10 Mon: Epcot | Ohana 5:15pm
9/11 Tue: Animal Kingdom/Epcot
9/12 Wed: Resort/Disney springs | Raglan road 6:30pm
9/13 Thu: Animal Kingdom/Epcot | Tiffins :630pm
9/14 Fri: Epcot then switch to offsite resort
9/15 Sat: Hollywood Studios | California grill 5:55pm
9/16 Sun: Magic Kingdom | Skipper Canteen 12:30pm
9/17 Mon: Resort Last day | Homecoming 1:00pm

I wasn't loving the idea of leaving Epcot to go to Ohana and I have been blessed with snagging an Ohana Reservation on Monday 9/17 5:50pm so that helps open up my planning. I do want to go to MK at night and see the fireworks in the parks so I'm wondering if I should go to Ohana on our last day and Hop to MK at night on 9/10 or do that on Saturday and move my California Grill reservation to Friday?

I’d probably plan to either swing by MK after your Ohana dinner on Monday 9/10, or watch from Poly. HEA is at 8:30PM that day. If you can maybe get an ADR a touch later, you can finish up, stroll the grounds, and watch from there. Or keep you current ADR time, maybe hit Trader Sams afterwards (if of interest), etc.

I would vote for Monday. In general, weekends are going to be more crowded unless its an EMH day.
Of course, if you are doing a different park that day and just coming back for fireworks only, then it doesn't really matter.

I would choose Monday to see the fireworks at MK. Saturdays are busier days at MK with locals visiting in addition to the vacation guests.

That is what I was thinking. Either we move our ohana reservation or just go afterwards. my boyfriend seems ok with this plan, I was just worried he would be too tired to do all of it but I think that is a good idea! thanks!

You both are right, monday would be the better day. even if I cancel my reservation I can take the monorail to MK from Epcot (well TTC then MK) thanks for the advice!

I would probably choose Monday as well. I wouldn't expect too much lighter crowds though just because it's Monday. Monday seems like a pretty busy day for Magic Kingdom because Monday ends up being the start of a lot of people's vacations and Magic Kingdom is typically the first park people visit on their trips.
