MK on a Disney After Hours day?

We are RD people that go until around 4 or 5pm. We're not interested in doing a Disney After Hours, nor are we planning to be in the park in the evening if it's not a DAH night. What I'm wondering is how the DAH party affects crowds during the day.

Are there more people like us who try to cram in a day's worth of touring because the park closes early? Or do people try to avoid MK on those days, as they won't have the same flexibility to tour? Or do people just keep to their plans, then PH to another park for the evening?

The park doesn't close early for DAH and you can't enter on the DAH ticket until 6:00pm, so I don't think you will see an increase in crowds during the day.

Maybe I'm confused. I thought the park closed early for people who didn't have a DAH ticket. I knew there was overlap, but I assumed the point of getting a DAH ticket... at a premium, was to get the park to yourself, not share with all other ticketholders. What am I missing?

DAH is after regular park hours. Not to be confused with a party night, which takes place during what are normally regular park hours. In other words, the park closes early for a party but operates regular hours on a DAH day. In both cases special event guests are allowed to enter before the hard ticket event starts and non-ticket holders need to leave when the event begins.
The difference is that day guests are not subject to a shorter park day on DAH days, thus crowds aren’t impacted.

Good advice above. DAH is generally truly “after hours” in that it has historically been scheduled after whatever “typical” hours are at that given time. There is still normal nighttime entertainment, fireworks, etc, for day guests.

DAH ticket holders can get in at 7pm officially (generally 6pm in practice) but the crossover traffic has to date not really been a material crowd issue for day guests.

Hope that helps.

Ah. I thought the DAH was the party. Thanks.
It’s like a party in that it requires a separate ticket. Different than a party in that it’s after regular hours.
When folks refer to a party, they are referencing the Halloween party (MNSSHP) or Christmas party (MVMCP).
