MK morning EMH & not staying on-site question

On Saturday, there is a morning EMH from 8-9 and park open at 9. We are driving in for part of the day and I'll be filling time beginning ~8am.

Some sources say Main St opens to all guests at 8am with CM's standing at land entry points off the hub and only letting resort guests past. Other sources say that offsite guests are held either at T&TC or the gates until almost 9am before being let onto Main St.

I'd rather go straight to MK, grab breakfast at Starbucks, and people watch until 9 but if we really will be held at the gates until close to 9, I might as well enjoy a table service breakfast at a monorail resort and then head over.

Can anyone clarify what actually happens? Thanks :)

I know in December every single EMH (4 of them) morning everyone was allowed through to the hub. Then from there CM's were directing resort guests where to go to actually get into the park past the hub. The CM's checked magicbands at these checkpoints as well for resort guests. I do not know about T&TC arrival though. Could you just drive and park at MK, I think that gives you the best chance to soak up the Main St atmosphere. And we were there at 7:30 to get through security (early in the morning they only had 4 open), but we were able to go in right after security screenings. So we were actually in at 7:45-7:50. Granted that does not happen all the time nor should you expect it, but since they no longer do the train show in the morning that is how it has been.

TTC is where offsite guests going to MK are intended to park, hence the OP’s question.

Sorry OP, but I am not familiar enough with current procedures to answer.

The last time we were there for morning emh, they were checking at ttc. Keep in mind this was awhile ago so things may have changed since then. Hope this helps.

You could always park at the TTC and walk over to the Poly. Catch the monorail or launch there to get to the park.

Last time I was there (past nov/dec) I seem to remember they were checking magic bands at the hub. I would assume they wouldn’t mind non-resort guests spending their money on main street until the park opened.

This is helpful - thanks y'all.

I'm actually being dropped off (DH is playing at the Palm) so maybe security will let him drop me at the Poly and I can grab the monorail there just in case they are holding people at T&TC. We will drive right past it on the way to the Palm anyways. And fingers crossed I can get it once I get to the gates :)

Well, it does answer her question when there were non-guests at MK during EMH.

I'm going to add an update to my original thread in case someone else comes along and searches for the answer, too ;)

This morning, I had breakfast at Kona and then took the monorail to the MK around 830. Security at the Poly did not ask if I was a resort guest so I was free to get on the monorail. The gates were open to all when I arrived and judging by the loads of people getting off the monorail and ferry, and the crowds already on Main St and standing at the ropes, it had been open since 8am to all guests.

In the end, I could have saved a few $ and gone straight to MK and grabbed breakfast at Starbucks but it was only a few dollars more to have macadamia nut pancakes and bacon so I can't complain :)
