MK hours & parade

according to disneyworld.com the MK is open on 12/16 from 9-10. it also shows that there are two parades, one at 8 and the other at 10. how can they have a parade when they close? does that mean we can still ride rides until after the parade? or is nothing else "working" at 10 other than the parade? i'm a bit confused!

Things are pretty quiet around the 2nd parade, if seen it where our family had no one around us for about 50'. I'm not sure how they do the rides, I think they gradually shut down the rides. Kinda like they do at epcot for illuminations.

A lot of times Disney will schedule an event (parade, fireworks, Fantasmic, etc.) to start at park closing time. As far as riding rides after closing, you can, as long as you are in line by closing time.

For the 2nd parades, the rides all shut down at the closing time (for example, if there is a parade that starts at 10, and the parks closes at 10, all the rides will be closed by 10). But as long as you are line for a ride when it closes, you will be fine.

Epcot does it almost every night except for the big holidays. Furure World "closes" at 7:00. World Showcase at 9:00. Illuminations starts at 9:00.

then at what time do they close the front gates? like if we wanted to come back (or from another park) to see the 2nd parade since it's not as crowded, when's the latest they'll let us in?
