MK Haircut question

I have not had DS' hair cut, even though it needs it and his graduation is tomorrow, because I want him to get it cut at disney. (It's not too bad, but I normally would've had it cut by now). Anyway, there will be two other boys with us, 2 1/2 and 8. My question is about the coloring and pixie dust. I know that they will want it when they see DS's being done, so how much do they charge to just do that? I don't mind paying for them to get it, but I just want to know what to expect to pay. Surely, I don't have to pay for a whole haircut jsut to get the color and pixie dust, do I?

The last time we went, there is no extra charge for the pixie dust or color. We get dh's hair cut there every time we go. It cost about $15 last time which was the end of 2003. I don't know if there is a charge for just getting the pixie dust or color. I am not sure if you can get just that.

Thanks. I realize that they dont' charge extra with a cut to do the color and PD. But I was wondering if they'd do just the color and PD for the other kids and what it would cost. Anyone else know?

Hi!

I had 3 of my boys get a haircut at MK last year. My husband had a Mickey put on the back of his head with gel (he is bald)! I believe it was $13-$15/ kid and she charged $7-$8 for my husband. I paid her $60 for all 4, which included tip. The only way I would do this is to be early at the gate and ready to rush in and go straight to the barber shop. The line get long even in the off season. It is great for the kids and you will get 2 results for your $$!--a haircut and the Disney magic! Pixie dust is included in the cost.

We were charge 5.00 for just the Pixie Dust and glitter....best bargain out there.

I was never charged for the kids when one didn't need a haircut but just wanted colored and dusted, but I do leave extra tip for the barber.

We did younger daughters first hair cut and the older daughter wanted the pixie dust. B/c they actually styled her hair as well--she was charged the same price. The styling was putting a barrette or something in her hair. We were not happy--b/c she didn't say anything..and we just asked for the pixie dust.

We still go back though.

This is one of the best cheepie things to do at the parks!

We went in March and as soon as we got into the park went there first - no line and both my DD4 and DH had gel and pixie dust put on. It is one of our favorite Disney memories!

I got my hair cut earlier this week. It's $13 for a kids cut and $17 for an adult cut! They sprinked pixie dust on mom too!

My daughter had her hair cut and had gel and pixie dust put in last Saturday. It was $13. We got there right around 3:00 and didn't have a bad wait at all. They told us that was a good time to come because most people are getting ready for the parade. We were able to sit right outside the barber shop when she was done and watch the whole parade with a very good view.

Had our almost 2yo DS first haircut there last October. We absolutely got our money's worth. He received a haircut(with lots of tears!), certificate, mouse ears that say "first haircut", pixie dust, and tons of stickers for less than $20. The barber-cast member also sprinkled my 2 older children, my husband and me w/pixie dust.

All in all the best deal at Disney.

My DD had hers done in 2003 as well and was her first haircut by someone else. She got a princess hair style and pixie dust. The best thing we ever did and we will always remember it.

For our next trip, I'd like to have some pixie dust as well...I was jealous!!! Mom's a kid too you know.
