MK Fireworks - Dessert Party or MVMCP?

We arrive in Orlando and plan to spend the afternoon/evening at MK. DDs second birthday is the next day and falls on a party day.

The original plan was to get tickets to the Dessert Party for the reserved fireworks area on arrival day. The next day, we would leave MK around 5 and head to 1900 Park Fare for DDs birthday dinner.

I just realized that the Dessert Party costs a little less per person than the MVMCP Party. DD crashes around 730 or 8 pm; she might stay up later through willpower and ice cream, though I do not think she will last to the fireworks. But she is under 3 and free.

I have my heart set on 1900 Park Fare now for her birthday. But I wonder if we should do an early ADR at 4pm and go to the Party instead of the Dessert Party the day before? Thoughts? I have never been, but the grandparents went once. The whole point of the dessert party was the reserved area; we want good viewing of the fireworks.

What is a better use of money?

Just know that the fireworks during MVMCP is not Happily Ever After fireworks. That doesn't make a difference for some people, but wanted you to be aware.

What time are you arriving into Orlando and are you flying or driving? If you're flying I might be hesitant to book either of those experiences for arrival day just in case you have any flight delays and/or are too tired to attend after traveling all day.

If that's not a consideration, I would probably choose MVMCP. With special meet and greets, shows, parade and fireworks it's more bang for your buck then the dessert party (even if you don't stay until the very end).

I think it depends on which fireworks you would rather see. IMHO, HEA is far superior to Holiday Wishes, so, if you are doing this solely for fireworks, I would stick with the dessert party. Also, if your DD crashes around 7:30-8:00 pm, that's, literally, right after the party officially starts, so would going to MVMCP really be worth it?

I think I would stick to your original plan.

I did not realize the fireworks were different! Grandpa wants to see the projections. Is the Holiday fireworks similar at all?

No, Happily Ever After and Holiday Wishes are quite different shows. Hardly anything comparable at all. In my opinion, one is not a substitute for another. They are both great shows in their own right.

I know HEA is new since I was last in Disney (2005). Are the holiday fireworks different since 2011? The grandparents saw them then.
