Hello All!

I am trying to get an Illuminations Cruise during our August stay but have yet to be successful. Today I was told I could book a Magic Kingdom Fireworks cruise for 8/8. I held it but I am wondering if anyone has any experience with this cruise? Is it worth it?

Thanks in advance,
Mary Rose

We have done the MK fireworks cruise twice and LOVED it both times!!! They are definitely worth the money... we actually consider that the best money we spent there. We are going to try to get an Illuminations cruise this year to try something different but if we are unable, I have no hesitation booking the MK cruise again. Hope this helps!!!

Thanks Kim, that helps alot. I see so much mentioned about the Illumination cruise that I wasn't sure about this one. I'm glad to know you loved it

Thanks,
Mary Rose

Both fireworks cruises are unique, special experiences. The IllumiNations cruise is more popular because the show itself is longer and more than a fireworks show. I've been able to schedule the IllumiNations cruise shortly before the day I want because sometimes cancellations occur. So keep calling in case such a cancellation happens. However, you won't be disappointed with the MK show; the boat captain is fun and the sights on the Seven Seas lagoon are striking at night!

After all the years of going we just tried it last October. We had 7 of us and it was great. We even pre=ordered a Mickey Head cake from the GF to be on board. The captain was all ready with linen napkins and china plates. It was - magical!

It was also totally awesome seeing the Electrical Light Parade from the water instead of the land which was a bonus to us.

Steven & suzywindy,

Thanks for your replies, it sounds like the MK Fireworks cruise would be great for us.

Thanks again,
Mary Rose

Just had to throw in my .02!!

We took the MK Fireworks Cruise in Feb of '01 with some friends of ours. 4 adults/4 children. It was the MOST perfect way to see the fireworks. So safe since we didn't have to negotiate the crowd after the display. I was concerned that we would miss out on the music but we could hear it loud and clear. The kids were so quiet - you could hear a pin drop!!

Captain Bob even let each child take his/her turn at "piloting" the boat.

We tried to book it again for our July trip but no go. :(

Great idea to arrange something to take onboard. Our friends brought their adult bevs from the WL concierge but we had travelled from YC and didn't consider bringing snacks, etc. Our kids were so enthralled with Captain Bob that they never knew they could have had snacks!!

We just returned from 11 wonderful nights in WDW! One of our evenings we took the MK fireworks cruise/Birthday cruise for my nephew who turned 11 yrs old that night. This was a total surprise for him, he had absolutely NO idea this was planned. I booked it for the fireworks cruise & the birthday cruise.

The boat was decorated with lots of balloons, had a birthday cake, sodas & chips on board. We took a cruise around the lake & then set still right in front of the castle & watched the fireworks & ate cake & drank soda :-) The whole thing lasted close to an hour. We also got to watch the floating fireworks show, beautiful!! The captain was great! Really took his time with us & showed us tons of things around the lake.

Highly recommend this to everyone! Lovely display of colors. My nephew thought the fireworks were just for him for his Birthday!

I think its worth the money just to not have to deal with the crowds!!!

HI! We wnt on a fireworks cruise this past March for my sisters b-day and had a blast! The boat was decorated and we had a cake. Our captain was wonderful he served the cake and took us on a tour of the lagoon before the fireworks started. We went over and saw the WL, the Polynesian, GF and the wedding pavillion, it was so beautiful at night.

Right before the fireworks started we stopped in front of the castle-WOW! It was wonderful!

Have a great trip!
