just booked Sept 16th! whoo hoo! been waiting and waiting. so happy this worked out, the CM really seemed to know how it worked this time around. much better than my booking in July.

I can't believe I just saw Disney extended this!!! Is it really booked solid....already? I have a younger brother who is Down Syndrome and celebrating his 40th birthday at WDW in October. This would be an absolutely perfect way to spend his birthday.

I'll try in the morning maybe I'll get lucky and get a ressie for the three of us.

I've just booked for 4 October. When I asked for it they told me it finished in September. I said that I had seen here that it had been extended and she checked and then booked it for me. So happy. I was really hoping this would be extended.

I will have to call back in the morning. Both CMs told me this afternoon that our entire week (October 2-8) was booked solid.

Just booked for Sept 5th for a party of 11, couldn't believe I got it after reading so many people weren't getting a res.

The CM said that there was a standing area, does everyone rush to that and stand? What is the difference between that and standing on Main Street?

I had never heard about this until I read the DIS! I searched the Disney official website and can't find a peep about it. Thanks so much to the person who posted the wdwinfo link. I showed those pics to my hubby and his response was: "Book it!" This from a tightwad, who really doesn't like fireworks or parades. LOL Yay!

So I called about 3:30 pm today and got ressies for the 3 of us on Sept. 24th. Any other DISers going to be there?

I guess I got lucky. The CM I got was very nice and quite knowledgable. I just said I'd heard the dessert party got extended and asked if it was happening on the 24th. She looked it up, said it was, and booked us! No problems at all.

One difference though...when she gave me my total they were going to charge my card, she told me it was $70.26 (for 3 "adults") and that total included both tax and gratuity. Which made perfect sense because I was told it was $17.99 each so I figured it was the tax and tip that jumped it up so much. Tip on $18 would be about $3, then another $2 for tax...seems to fit.

I'd magically happened upon the extension info while at work today & got right on the phone. Whichever CM assisted me (I never catch the names!) knew what I was talking about (extension of Wishes Dessert Party were my key words to her), and she was able to book us for Oct 7. That was about 4:45 EST (3:45 my time), which looks like it was after others posted they were told dates in October weren't available.

While the party seems popular, at least amongst DIS-ers 'in the know,' I'm finding it hard to believe that so many dates appear as sold out already. I could see a couple, maybe, if the date was popular, but all 8 days of a trip in October like someone was told? Doesn't seem right. While catching up on today's postings on the Boards here tonight, it looks like some CM's have Dining Plan options checked when they look, which makes it impossible to find open in their system. Others might be looking for date ranges when they really need to look at a specific date.

The other general question I have is what is "sold out?" Is capacity 20 people? 50? 100? Anyone recall seeing that info somewhere, or know from attending the party already? That might explain some of the dates, esp. if DIS members alone are saying they've been booking on a specific night.

Just were some thoughts I had; going to hop off away from the podium now. I'm hoping some of you will call back tomorrow & have better luck, once some of the CMs have gotten through the process with others of us.

I'm going to try again tonight... I'm in work 1045-600 (UK time) so I can't call til like 130 eastern. Maybe i'll get a CM who can find availability this time or maybe even a cancellation

According to Kathy Werling's review, the venue holds about 160 people.

To the folks having problems, likely the CM has forgotten to uncheck the DDP on the reservation availability search screen. If the DDP (in any form) is checked, then the Wishes Dessert Party will not come up as available - because it isn't on the DDP.

Uncheck the box and, viola - loads of availability!

Just called to try to books Sept.23, but was told no availability. The CM said the only night available for our week (Sept.19-25) was the 22nd. We're not doing MNSSHP so I ended up with no reservation.

I'll probably keep trying though, just in case.

On the phone with Disney Dining (after waiting 30 minutes on hold) about the Wishes Dessert Party. The following dates are completely sold out:

September 25
September 26
September 27
September 30

Did secure a reservation on October 3rd @ 8pm.

Did the cm make sure that the dining plan box was not checked? If that box is checked the parties are showing up not available because they are not on the dining plan.

It can be that they are really sold out but make sure that you ask

Hi, Ive just booked for Oct 4th and 15th The lady I spoke to said there is loads of avalibility as the dates have just been released.

She put me on hold and spoke directly with the manager and confirmed that all available seats were in the system and in fact numerous days were completely sold out since yesterday's announcement of the extension of this event.

My CM laughed because it was showing no availability, a minute after it had been extended for my entire 10 day stay.

After unchecking the "dining plan" box, I had any date I wanted available.

TRY AGAIN and PLEASE ASK THEM TO MAKE SURE THEY DISASSOCIATE IT WITH THE DINING BOX.

I'm on hold now, but will try for my original request date and ask them to uncheck the DDP box. The last CM I spoke with said she did, but will check with another CM.
