Has anyone ever seen the Magic kingdom Ferry boat dock at Fort Wilderness?? my sister swears she saw it docked at fort Wilderness during Hoop Dee Doo traffic, actually she said it was a nightmare on the dock with all the people.

While I have seen their larger passenger boats at the FW dock, I've never seen the ferry there.

I have a hard time picturing it happening for a couple of reasons:

  1. I'm not sure the water depth at FW would support the ferry
  2. Looking at how the ferry docks, I don't see where it would dock at FW

I'm sure it was just one of the larger launchs docked there. The dock at the FW marina is not designed for the much larger ferry, and as Tim said, i believe the water depth is insufficient for the ferry to negotiate.::MickeyMo

The Magic Kingdom ferry boats do dock at Ft. Wilderness. My family and I rode one several years ago on a summer night. The MK had closed and there was a huge crowd waiting for the boat back to Ft. Wilderness. It was quite a sight to see the ferry boat coming. We got on through a side entrance. When it got to FW, it docked nose first into the end of the pier and we got off over the front ramp. Talk about Disney magic!
I asked one of the FW/MK launch captains this summer is they still use the ferry boat for that trip. He says they do when there are a lot of people waiting and a boat is available.

I was pretty sure I had seen the ferry at the FW dock, but I couldn't remember which trip it was so I wasn't going to chime in. Glad to know I'm not losing all my mind!

A little off topic here...

when taking the boat(any boat) from Ft.W to MK did you know that you actually go on a water bridge over a road? My DH and kids got the biggest kick out of that.

Still off topic...but yes! I remember the very first time we visited DW driving on that road and seeing a boat going over! Those in the car that missed it, swore we were seeing things. Then we stayed at FW a year later and discovered "the magic" of boating over cars!

Last year we saw the MK ferry dock at FW. It was MNSSHP night and the line for the launch probably would have been at least three launches long. I don't think the ferries draw that mauch water as the lakes overall are not very deep.

This past week the big ferry from the ttc picked us up 3 times and let us out at the MK. each time it was the night of the mnsshp and at about 7pm one night the line for the boat was past the hoop de doo door. Everyone fit with room to spare.
