MK, EP & AK - Am I crazy for going to evening EMH?

We will be in WDW 8/29 - 9/4. There are 3 evening EMH's during our stay:

Wed. 8/30 - AK (EMH 'til 8pm)
Fri. 9/1 - Epcot (EMH 'til midnight)
Sun. 9/3 - MK (EMH 'til 1am)

We are planning to attend but would you advise us to stay away (because of crowds?)

Despite common wisdom to stay away from EMH parks I am tempted to go to these for the thrill of being out late. We always go to WDW in the off season when the parks close early. We will also be going during the heat of August so it will be cooler to tool around in the evening. We plan to spend the early part of our days at the water parks and head over to the theme parks after 2pm or 3pm.

The Epcot and MK EMH's are over Labor Day weekend if that makes a difference.

ps - We are not planning to purchase the hopper option to save over $200 for our family of 5.

The 5/14 Evening EMH at MK was wonderful, but I would hesitate to go that weekend. Likewise with Epcot, but there is something special about being under the moon (if there isn't one, just pretend).

I've been to evening EMH at AK twice and it was very UNcrowded both times. DH rode EE and it said 20 minute standby wait, but he was done in about 20 minutes. Kali was a walk on (although that queu itself is a long walk!). We waited about 5-10 minutes for the KS ride. The first time it wasn't listed as being open, but I finally walked over there, and it was open until sunset.

I have done evening EMH at all parks and thought that they were great. Certain attractions are always busy, so be prepared for that.

We were down in March and caught quite a few EMH nights. We always had a blast. We did MGM and EPCOT (twice) and had a great time on all three visits. I agree some attractions are always busy, SOARIN' was packed during EMH, couldn't even get in the door at the Land Pavillion.
