We will be doing MK on 1/3. This is our only park and our kids' first time. We will most likely be doing CS for lunch. Any suggestions for getting the most bang for our buck? It'll be dh and I and our 2 kids - ds (7) and dd (5). I'm thinking dd and I could split something, if the portions are really big.

if your wanting to do counter service meal for lunch i would recommend Columbia Harbour house its a naurical themed resturant featuring the classic fish & chips, soups & sandwiches lost cost, recomend sitting up stairs as you get a nice view- very close to liberty square riverboat.

or the main street bakery if very pleasent, they do sandwiches, cakes etc.

another good web site that you can view menus etc is www.allears.net
kind regards
beckie

Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe....

Best selection
Best value:
Chicken/RIb plate with Green beans, Mashed potatos and choice of Carrot or Chocolate Cake! Definitely can share!

PLus animatronic Show...with Sonny Eclipse!

IMHO

I am a fan of Columbia Harbour House. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get, and the menu is more varied than the typical burger fast food fare.

I also like Columbia Harbour House because it's not your typical burger and fries, the food is fresh tasting and good and the portions are large. It's also conveniently located for lunch IMO. You get Fantasyland done in the morning, head over and do BTMR & SM (or get fastpasses) and have an early lunch at CHH!

Depends how big eaters you all are really. We used two cs credits at Main Street Bakery on our last trip as the kids (as always) were starving and we weren't too bothered. They split a baguette and had a cookie/pastry each. We split the other sandwich a tomato/pesto and mozzarella roll and it was plenty for us for lunch. Appreciate that we are big breakfast eaters and this may not be sufficient for those of you who aren't

I'd also say Cosmic Ray's is great for splitting. I'm a fan of the rib and chicken combo, but it's a big lunch (or dinner). I also suggest checking out the menus at allearsnet.com, it's a great resource!

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

The last time I was at the park was in 2000. DH and I (then DB) ate both lunch and then dinner at Cosmic Rays. So that is all I am familiar with. We eat a pretty good breakfast. I have been looking the menus at allears and the rib/chicken combo actually looked pretty decent for the 2 of us to split. I will also look more into Columbia Harbour.

Big fan of Cosmic Ray's. We love the rotisserie chicken. The kids love to watch the robotic alien sing. It is loud and I would go just before the lunch/dinner hour. But the food is delicious!

If your kiddos are really picky plain ol' hamburger types, check out Pecos Bills. They have a huge toppings bar for your burgers/chicken sandwiches. Plus, they have hot, melty cheese for your fries. Yum!

We love both Cosmic Rays and Pecos Bill's.

DH and I are "good" eaters and can split the rib/chicken combo at CR's. You can also split the cheesesteak sandwich, that thing is huge!!!

At PB's DH gets the taco salad, it is nice sized but he eats it all, only bites for me if I don't get it. lol

We've done them all and we rate them in this order:

Cosmic Ray's -- lots of choices, good food and some meals large enough to split
Columbia Harbor House -- love sitting upstairs and people watching on the street below--have never had a bad meal here
Pinocchio Village Haus -- we used to love this place, but now it is basically pizza (and we don't do Florida pizza at all) and salads
Pecos Bills -- was not impressed and won't go back--burger was gross, topping bar filthy and the Taco Salad consisted of the taco shell, way too much lettuce and a 1/4 teaspoon, if that, of meat

Not CS, but The Plaza had generous portions when we ate there for lunch last Friday. The Club was about $11, and I could only eat half of the sandwhich and fries. The desserts there were also very large.

Pecos Bills is the place for splitting, they have a great fixins bar.

Columbia Harbour House is our favorite for its location, accessibility and variety. Cosmic Ray's is often loud and overwhelming. It looks gigantic, but finding an open table at mealtimes is a hassle, and the food quality doesn't justify the stress. Even in the age of forums and chat rooms, where keeping a secret is practically impossible, Columbia Harbour House has gone overlooked. Sitting upstairs watching people milling around Liberty Square while eating lunch is a real pleasure.

Try the Lighthouse sandwich with hummus and broccoli slaw on a delicious thick multigrain bread. It's light and healthy, and a wonderful respite from all the fried junk you will certainly be eating the rest of the trip.

Pecos Bill receives fantastic reviews, but I have never enjoyed anything there.

Good luck!

I only did 2 CS at MK....Columbia Harbour House and Casey's and thought both were excellent. I think CHH has a good selection for everyone.

Pinnochios Village Haus in my favorite! Try and get a seat to watch It's a Small World while you eat!!
