We will be spending a half day (12-9) with my sisters family at MK. On that day we will be doing the “big kid rides” since there will be people for the baby swap. After they leave we will be going back for another day. This time only rides that DGS (20 months) can ride.

I am having a really hard time planning this day for some reason. I think I want to get a FP for Peter Pan’s Flight since it is a hard to get one. Do I stick with getting FP+ for rides in that general area as my first 3 and just move from land to land getting FP as we go, or should I also get FP for Buzz and HM and do standby in between as we move through the park (I have no desire to run back and forth between lands), or is there a better strategy?

FWIW, this will be on May 21.

I think those are 3 good choices for FPs. You could start your day in Tomorrowland with Buzz and then work your way around the park doing standby until you get to PP.

When my son was a toddler I liked to get a FP at the Mickey Mouse meet and greet at the front of the park first for our arrival, then headed over to Buzz, the Tea Cups, Winnie the Pooh, fast passed Peter Pan, IASW, lunch, fast passed the Jungle Cruise, then would get 4th for Pirates or the Magic Carpets. By then he'd be ready for a nap in the stroller and I could stroll around.

I would go with the bolded above. PP is a bit of a challenge to get, so get that one in advance. The rest of the non-headliners (i.e. 7DMT) aren't hard to get as you go....Pirates, Buzz, HM, Small World, etc...

Try not to be tied to any FP if you are not doing any headliners other than PP. Be prepared to adjust on a whim to keep the group moving. Conventional wisdom says not to waste a FP on Barnstormer, but if the kids want to ride and the standby line has climbed to 35 mins, do it.

When we have done this, at rope drop we go to Fantasyland and ride things until our first 2 FP at 10ish and 11ish (Always PPF and Princess Fairytale Hall or Pooh.) Our 3rd in booker in another land (usually Pirates) for around 12. Then we book add’l FP from then on.

I booked this morning. I did Meet Mickey and Minnie at 9:20; Buzz at 10:25 and Peter Pan at 12:25. And honestly we could skip PP because we are doing it on the 18th already. Maybe I should pick something else? I have time to think about it.

Then I got a notification from Touring Plans that there is a 9:50 Crystal Palace available. So now I'm thinking of taking that (already booked actually) and moving Buzz back by a 1/2 hour.

I would not skip PP. When my DD was 2, it was her absolute favorite. This was before FP+, so we just FP it over and over all day and nothing else-- would would get 4 for 5 FPs for it in a day. When a 2 year old decides they really like something, they want to ride it more than once.

I would consider switching one of your others to Pooh. In our experience, Pooh typically has a pretty long line. We can almost always find a time to do HM and Buzz with a 10 or 15 minute wait, and I have picked both of those up as a 4th FP many times. I think Meet Mickey and Minnie is a decent choice--- that line is inconsistent--- sometimes we walk in and immediately meet them, sometimes it is 10 minutes, and sometimes that line is an hour and we walk out. Remember if you walk up and see that the line time is showing as really short, you can always modify your FP before you scan it so that you can use that for something else and then just get in the standby line.

I would keep the Crystal Palace ADR-- that was a big hit for DD when she was little. Do you have any idea whether your little one will like the characters? Some love them and some are scared. If you have the chance to try out one before your trip, that might give you an idea--- we knew from the Chick-Fil-A cow, local museum characters and Santa that DD was going to love them.

I would also add Story Time with Belle if that is important to you. That’s FP is hard to get day of.

When I take my 4 year old we FP Peter Pan, Meet Mickey and maybe Jungle Cruise. Same day FP are easy to pick up for most of the smaller rides like Dumbo, Small World, Under the Sea, etc.
