MK Day before Columbus Day (no party) or Columbus Day (Party)?

Looking for lower crowds, can't decide which day to do MK. We would like to see the fireworks, so leaning towards Sunday, but afraid the crowds might be WAY higher than Monday which Columbus Day and is a party day. Thinking maybe people might be heading home that day??? Which would you choose?

I would not do MK on a non party day holiday weekend. Crowds are just naturally larger on non party days, add in a 3 day weekend
