Hi - Can someone tell me how Disney decides to open the park early? Right now Oct 2nd is showing it is NOT EMH and the park will open at 9, but if I look back at last year the same time period, the park was opening at 8am - I guess I'm wondering how far in advance will I know if they are opening MK early? I want to try and get the 8am CRT reservation but if the park opens at 8 I would want to push breakfast to 9:30 -

Edit to add about breakfast -- I know Cinderella's Royal Table is one reservation you have to pay in advance, does anyone know how that works in regards to booking 2 times? I would have to pay for both and then can I cancel the one after I find out about the hours?

They open the park early if they are expecting large crowds, such as Christmas week, Spring Break, etc. If you are traveling around a major holiday, then there is a good chance of an early opening.

Unfortunately, the decision to open early is often made at the last minute, without much, if any, advanced warning.

I wouldn't trust times for October yet. The park won't open later or close earlier than currently published; however, they could open earlier, close later, or add AM or PM EMH. I have seen it change the week before or even day before as far as closing times. Just try to be flexible and use previous data as a guide. It's frustrating, but you won't even remember this part of during and after the trip:)

EDIT: Forgot to comment about the breakfast. Can you make 2 reservations and then cancel one later? I have had to cancel BOG PPO breakfast before, but I knew it could happen and was prepared.

If Oct 2nd will open earlier than what's you're seeing now, you'll see hours updated by early to mid Sept.

Any hours further out than about 45 days are almost certain to change

Absolutely love your signature here (I think that is what they are referring to as the signature, the pic with the family in Mickey). So cute. How did you do it? Love it! (sorry off topic but had to comment) :)

Thanks! I meant to add a question about breakfast too - I know Cinderella's Royal Table is one reservation you have to pay in advance, does anyone know how that works in regards to booking 2 times? I would have to pay for both and then can I cancel the one after I find out about the hours?

I am going the week before Columbus Day so I'm not sure if that counts, but like I said, I looked back at last year and they did open early some days during that same week. Thanks for the info!

Thank you! It was done with Adobe Photoshop. Photography and art are hobbies for me, so I tinker around with things when time permits.

It could count, kind of all depends on how many people show up, how full the hotels are. Exactly when school breaks are makes a huge difference in when the parks will be most crowded. We've had unexpected 8:00 openings at MK happen on days when we had an 8:00 breakfast at Crystal Palace. Kind of fouls up the day, but at least with FP+ it doesn't make the day a complete mess.

do not know for sure but I would be prepared to pay for both and be refunded the one when you cancel

Yes. Just cancel in time to follow the cancellation policy. They will refund your credit card. You may be able to cancel it online. Sometimes, you have to call to cancel for the prepaid events. It's not difficult though.

Thanks!! Crossing my fingers I'll get both times!!
