MK Buzz Lightyear Refurb

We are going to be in Disney Feb. 6-10, 2016 leaving to come on on the 11th. I saw that Buzz Lightyear in MK is scheduled for refurbishment and set to open on the 11th. It is my children's favorite ride. What are the odds that it will be ready early? Or does Disney stick to their set opening date once it is scheduled? HELP! Should I extend my trip by a day, so the kids can ride it? Or does refurbishment ever last longer than scheduled?

I think most attractions have soft openings before Disney's last published open date. And Disney is pretty good at planning those dates

But I think they sometimes discover rides need more work than anticipated after they "open up the walls" and may need to push an open date out. I think that was the case with BTMRR?

It's not impossible, but I wouldn't count on it. If they do any soft openings before the re-opening date, then they will be sporadic and you'll just have to be there at the right time What is more possible, though I still wouldn't count on it, is that they change the refurb dates completely, though this will be announced before they start (i.e. they push the whole thing later). This has happened to me only a few weeks before a trip. Keep an eye on it, but don't expect much to change unfortunately.
