MK barbershop...Locks of Love?

My DD8 has wanted to donate her hair to Locks of Love for 2 years now. Her hair grows so slowly, however, that we are still waiting

Wouldn't it be cool if we could get her hair chopped off at WDW?
Does anyone know if they do this there?

My daughter has donated her hair to locks of love before. And it was a wonderful experience for both of us. But as I remember it, its not the salon that does the donating, you will probably need to send it in yourself. The salon we went to washed her hair and prepped it in a pony tail before they cut it so we could put it in a baggie to send it off. I remember that it needed to be something like 10 inches long (the entire pony tail) and clean. Check their website for the info. Locksoflove.org

My DD had her hair cut at WDW and then donated it to Locks of Love. You need to know the requirements (like having the hair pulled into a ponytail before cutting, & where to send it), and they will cut it correctly, but it will not be free (many Locks of Love hairdressers will cut & style donated hair for free), and you have to send it off yourself, but they will package it up for you so that you can take it with you. Let them know when you get there. They were so wonderful with DD, she's 6 and it was her first haircut at 5.5 years so the hair was LONG. They made her feel really special and good about her decision to donate. She still talks about it. We will be having it done again this year, and if the hair is long enough we will donate again.

It's wonderful to see kids are donating to Locks of Love. I go back and forth between having a short bob and letting it grow out all the time so when I'm ready to get it chopped off again I make sure it's long enough to donate. I have such thick hair they always get two ponytails out of it. LOL It's wonderful that you are raising such caring kids.

I will check out the website. I'm thrilled to find out we can get it cut there and send it out ourselves. Maura's hair was cut to a pixie AGES ago, and I think it will be just long enough by August. Then I'm free from tangle patrol for awhile!
I agree it's great to have such a big hearted child. She raises money for St.Jude's every year and walks for Diabetes. She's a great kid.
