Look at the link that says MK and Epcot the day after Hurricane Frances

I posted pictures the other day of the preparations for Hurricane Frances in MK and MGM. It was amazing to see that all the things were gone that they used to secure sign, booths, lights, etc.

I went back today to take pictures to show how the parks survived the Hurricane.

All the rides were walk ons again. We didn't wait for any ride.

I think some Pixie dust was sprinkled on WDW.

If you have any questions just ask.

PS: my son noticed that the cable that Tinkerbell flies down wasn't there. Guess they took it down for the hurricane.

Thank you so much for taking and posting all the hurricane photos - both pre and post Frances. I also am relieved that WDW made it thru so well. Now I'm just wondering how much damage there was to Castaway Cay in the Bahamas.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you in Florida. What a hurricane season you have had! Here's hoping Ivan just totally passes you by.

We leave Thursday, and DH kept saying, "Don't get your hopes up, we may have to cancel."
I have these pix to show him that WDW is pure magic!!!!:wizard:
Here's hoping Ivan disappears!:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Hello Safetymom, thank you for sharing your great pictures and all your posts through all these storms!

I have a question please? We're supposed to leave for WDW this Friday morning and my only concern about being in WDW during a storm really is my fear of water issues, as far as you know has WDW had any issues with boil water orders etc. at the resorts during any of these storms? My husband was wondering if WDW has its own wastewater treatment facilities and such?

Thank you for any info that you can provide. I'm still hoping that we'll be down adding our $ to the local economy come Friday, but watching Ivan very closely.

Disney does have its own water treatment facility from what I've read in "Since the World Began".

Castaway Cay is pretty much leveled, but as most of the structures there were temporary-type buildings anyway, there's not too much of a problem -- they'll just ship new stuff in. The one permanent "clubhouse" has some damage, but is generally okay -- very wet! -- and all CMs from the Cay were evacuated early on into the Frances cycle.

Thanks safetymom! I had started a thread yesterday wondering how you and other Fl Dis'ers made out. Glad to hear from you again so soon!
