Just did a little research concerning rumours I'd heard as a teen. There was some rumour that he would go to Disneyland and have it to himself...Obviously I guess. I remember being in Disneyland as a teen when Capt. Eo first came out. It was a huge deal.

I remember reading some on the first lawsuit about the mother involved. It wasn't her first fraud case... It's off topic so I wont even bring that stuff up here- just my 2 cents I guess. :hippie:

Thanks for sharing the article! Yes, MJ was a huge Disney fan. People will say all sorts of messed up stuff, but he was really just a kid at heart, IMO.

I got to see Captain EO the week it came out! It *was* a huge deal, and it really impressed lil 7 year old me :3dglasses

On one of our visits, must have been about 15 years ago, DH saw him (or at least saw the group of people surrounding him) coming off POC while we were waiting to get into Blue Bayou.

I saw MJ behind the Matterhorn watching the midnight fireworks on '93 new years eve, he was about 3 feet away from me, we were all looking up at the sky and i just happened to look over, i was about 13 at the time and just yelled out OMG its Michael Jackson, the next thing you know his entourage swept him away towards the castle in a heartbeat.

Also i remember randomly going to disneyland when i was a kid with my mother and my mothers best friend and her son, the weekend that Captain EO opened and we were eating breakfast at the disneyland hotel and across from us was one of our local newscasters, my mom said hey i recognize you, and immediately they were interested in how we knew them, i guess there mission was to go to disneyland and find someone from our area (monterey bay) and follow them around disneyland and get there feedback about the new Captain EO experience, so all day they followed us with a camera and let us get on all the rides without waiting in line, payed for all our food and souvenirs and during the 1st showing of Captain EO they took my mom to the top of Space Mountain (outside) and interviewed her about her trip, it was the most crazy random thing ever, but i will never for get that day feeling like a super star.

Wow! That must have been so exciting! Apparently quite a few of the local newscasters and weather people out here are seen in DLR quite a bit, but you never hear of anything like that happening now!

In all the coverage since MJ's death, one of the prevailing themes that has come out from several people is that MJ went to almost every Disney park there was when he was in that part of the world. When he was in Paris, he was at DLP. When he was in Japan, he was at Tokyo Disney. He would always take his celebrity friends and bandmates. Of course, he had been to WDW and DLR numeorus times. Sheryl Crow and a couple of other celebrities were talking in the last couple of weeks about being at Disneyland with Michael, and sometimes he would tell the CM to keep running the ride over and over again, to the point where Sheryl, etc. were starting to get ill!:lmao: He really was like a big kid! He could have easily been lurking on the DIS at some point, reading all of our wonderful posts!!:lmao::lmao: You know what is interesting is that I never heard of any MJ sightings at DCA in the last several years. Had anyone else heard of him being at DCA? I wonder if he liked it. He seemed to love Disney so much that I wonder what he thought of DCA. I can picture him enjoying California Screamin' and TSMM and the Orange Stinger, but I wonder if he was there.

It was comforting to me when I read this.
I think I would have liked him if we had met. I dont know if he would have liked me though... the big rides scare me!!! Save me a seat on the Pirate Ride in the sky Michael... I'll meet you there in like 50 years :thumbsup2
