I'm pretty sure I've heard that if you have points reservations for a split stay at two resorts, they can link the two to allow a single DDP to cover the entire stay. Is this correct, or do you have to purchase two DDP plans when you change resorts, and use the meals on the days you're at each particular resort? Anyone have experience with this?

Taking the question to the next level of complexity...

It's possible for a DVC member to book a reservation through Member Services that uses points for some nights and cash for others. When you do this, is it a single reservation number, or are there separate reservation numbers for points nights and cash nights? Can the reservations be linked to ensure you don't have to change rooms? Linked for purposes of the DDP? Anyone have any experience with DDP on a DVC reservation that used both points and cash?

I think you can only have 1 DDP if the reservations are linked. I don't think you can link reservations at 2 resorts but you can link a cash and point stay at 1 resort in the same type room.

If you make cash reservations through MS and it is the exact same lodging you have on points, it would be one reservation. If you get the DDP, you would have to get the plan for all those nights.

If you have a points-bookable reservation that is not bookable for cash (BWV BW view or standard view; BCV dedicated two bedroom with two queen beds, etc), it would not be linked and would be two different reservations. You would have to check out and check in and move. You could add the DDP for both of those reservations, but the first DDP would end at midnight of the night you checked out. The second DDP would begin once you checked in.
