Mixed Nuts

I'd like to be either Wingnut or Beernut! Perhaps they could be combined into Bingnut. Reminds me of the scene in "Best of Show" where good ol' Harlan Pepper (Christopher Guest) is recitin' his nut-namin' skill.

We're home now and unpacking (doing laundry too) from our DC trip.

Anyone here? I need to have my hand held. I'm freaking out.

I did it. I called him again. I got his VM this time and what I said (if I can remember)...

"Hi, Ken, it's Liz...just wanted to say sorry about the other night; I had a little attack of the nerves. I didn't want to interrupt your dinner or your night with the kids and I just didn't know what to say. It's been a long time since I did this and I did want to say that my divorce is final now...has been for a while...and, uh...I was wondering if you might want to get together sometime. So...um...my number is *blank* and my cell phone is *blank* so...I hope to talk to you soon!"

Was that really lame? Please be gentle...I'm not kidding that I'm literally shaking and I feel like I'm going to be sick.

Hey, Bingnut...that movie was just on about an hour ago, and that scene totally reminded me of the Nutters!

I'm here now, but probably not the one to ask for dating advice. The last time I asked somebody out on a date in a singles-situation, the other George Bush was the President.

But it sounds to me like you did fine.

Liz,

I think that sounded great!
Lets all hope he calls you back now. If he doesn't at least call you back, he's not worth the effort any more. Even if he's not interested, he should call you back and acknowledge your call.
Proud of ya!

Now wait a minute. This thread looks sooooo familiar. Why is that? :confused3

Paige

Please come back and chat when I am around. I miss you a lot.

Liz, I think you did great!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:
That sounds like a great message and now the ball is in his court.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. :)

Hi nuts! What a gorgeous day! Emily's Communion was beautiful. She looked soooo pretty. Can't wait to show you some pics.

On a sadder note, however, Brock's grandfather died. Talk about an emotional rollercoaster of a day. He was a wonderful man, and I feel lucky to have known him.

I am glad to hear it went well with Emily's Communion  I would love to see pictures when you can.

And I am sorry about the lose. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts.

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts. Brock and my older girls are taking the loss rather hard. :sad1: We will be going to Indiana Tuesday and Wednesday for the visitation and funeral.

Liz, I think you did great! I hope he calls you back. And soon!

Pixie -- did you see Spiderman?

Michele...sorry to hear of your loss.

Yes, we saw Spiderman today.

How are you doing?

How are you doing?

Thank you so much. We are doing as well as can be expected. We're all a little edgy and sad. There's always so much going on here, we didn't get down to see him as often as we would have liked, so there's a little guilt going on that he didn't see the girls much... :( I am very happy though that my girls got to know their great-grandfather. He really was a special man. Would you believe my kids still have 3 great-grandmothers and 1 great-grandfather living? I think that's pretty unusual, and they are really lucky.

How was Spiderman? We can't wait to see it!

That's great that they got to know him.

I liked the movie...Peter Parker kind of made me laugh when he turns in to the black spiderman...I won't say anything else.

Can't wait to see it! Maybe we will take the kids next weekend. Emily (who is going to be 8 at the end of this month) has had a HUGE crush on Peter Parker forEVER! :rotfl:

Hiya...

Michele,

I also found out today that my former MIL called my mother to ask for my phone number. She wants to know how I am. I wonder if she knows how her son has been treating me :rolleyes1

Thanks, Liz.

Hmm, that's interesting. I wonder. :rolleyes1

I'm wondering how much I should say to her. She and I have had some good conversations about him in the past...like when he was in debt up to his eyeballs; she had been putting money into his account (she works at the bank) so he wouldn't bounce checks, and she finally gave up. She told me to quit bailing him out, too, because he wasn't going to learn. She even told me that she thinks he's selfish!

Maybe say just a little and see how she responds...
