Mixed Nuts Part 2

Now, people, we all know, when it comes to music - David Bowie is The Master :worship: And then there's Duran Duran, and The Cure, and U2, and The Police, and the Dresden Dolls, and Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Roxy Music...
I would not say that David Bowie is the master. But I love U2 and I like The Police. The rest, well, I guess that's the great thing about music. So much to choose from.

Okay, well, I guess we just can't be friends anymore... :snooty:

:teeth: ;)
I almost took you for serious. But at least we don't have to listen to the same music while we DIS. DH has on Rush right now and I'm not a big fan of them at all.

I'm getting off now. Time to start the decorating.

Oh, no, I'm kidding around. I worship The Bowie but I don't think anyone else has to.

But if I ever do have a son, I plan on naming him Bowie. I'm completely serious about that.

The common theme here seems to be U2.

I was waiting for someone to say something about T'Pau.

Liz, those arranged marrages never work. And looks aren't everything. Thank God! :rotfl2:

I was just getting off when I came back to read this. I figured you were kidding. Good thing for smilies! ;)

Bowie certainly is a different name. It wouldn't be my 1st or maybe 10th choice but I never got most of my choices anyway. It's tough when you actually have to agree with your spouse. I really wanted Dawson for my 2nd son but he wouldn't have it. Oh well.

I really gotta go now. See ya later if you're on!

Yeah, but he's also really nice. A bit touchy-feely with the wife, though; that would drive me insane. My ex was one of those types and after a while, I'd be like, OMG, enough...you go over there!

Dawson as in Dawson's Creek?

I really prefer different names. My kids, should I ever have any, will probably hate me. I'm going for Bowie D'Artagnan and Venice Morticia. It was supposed to be Venice Desdemona, but then I realized that her initials would be VD and you know how kids are...once they get their minds wrapped around that, she'd never hear the end of it...

I was tossin' back some leftover turkey this eveing when I hit a ball of gristle. It was nasty. I worked my way through it. But it wasn't easy.

It reminded me of a story: I was at the Spanish Steppes in Roma back in 87 when a fat balding man showed up with what looked like a cooked turkey on a platter.

Sure, it was odd for someone to show up with a sliced turkey in the middle of Rome, but I've seen stranger sh!t so what the hell, I was hungry, and dove in.

After grabbing a leg off the so-called-turkey and ripping a bite out with out my massive, hynean-like jaws, I distincly noticed a taste issue in comparison with turkey... Old baldy then infomed me that it wasn't turkey, but canine.

I was immediately appalled: Canine!! What the heck do you mean!

"Dog. It's dog. You know, woof, woof."

Hooboy! :sad2:

Every time I eat thanksgiving dinner, I have to think about the dog platter that old man baldy delivered to us at the Spanish Stepps. I just can't get over it.

It's a memory I'll never forget.

Mm ... I like frog legs. Oh Kermie ....

My aunt and uncle used to own a restaurant in Hammond, Indiana that was known for their frog legs. It closed last month, though...very sad.

And I just noticed an interesting coincidence...I see your link that says "the Welch kids." That's my family's name, too (not mine; even my maiden name was different, but I'm a Welch at heart).

Welch is our last name. I think Rob's family is pretty much from Central NY (Syracuse/Fingerlakes regions).

Ah, we're not related then. We're from Chicago. I had my fingers crossed, though!

I forgot to mention - my mother's name was supposed to be Dawn. My grandparents went with D names - David, Dale, and Dwight. Then my mother came along; they were going to go with Dawn, but my uncles wanted to call her Jill, so they got their way :confused3

Hello, Nuts. Had to dig this thread up from page 6...y'all are slacking!! Cheryl and I go away for a few days and everyone stops chatting! Anyway, hope everyone had an absolutely wonderful holiday. I'm home now. Obviously. Time to go back to reality. :sad2:
