I took Mrs. Rob to the airport this morning. She is flying to Enfield, CT (for reals -- well, flying to Hartford and then on to Enfield) -- just thought I'd warn you Liz.

Why the heck would she want to come here? It's cold and there's nothing to do... :p

Um, something about finding that "Liz gal" and taking care of this once and for all? :confused3

(j/k -- business trip -- she is training some folks on some new machines in our Enfield facility on the night shift tonight. I say "our" because she and I are employed by the same company.)

Aw, a new friend! :goodvibes

I didn't know any Enfield companies had a BigKC connection...

Oh yes. Our firm has had a distribution center (DC) in Enfield for over 50 years but the building our DC is in now was built sometime in the early 1980s. We warehouse over 60,000 products there and employ about 800 workers.

Okay, now I'm trying to figure out who it might be. Is it on Pearson Way, or another one of our industrial parks? Perhaps Phoenix Ave.? Moody Road?

A quick hello!

Back home :(
I'm overwhelmed by all I have to do now. That's the down side to going back last minute. The beach looked lonely today when I left. It was like a ghost town! lol
Nice to have my high speed back. Rob, not so bad once in awhile on dial up, but it's annoying to have to use it daily. I'm also sick of using my lap top. It's nice to use a real keyboard!

KJ had a great first day. When I asked him if he had a good day, he said "no, GREAT"! He loves his teacher. Lets see if he loves her after he gets his first AR assigment! LOL

I hope PJ had a nice first day!!
I bet Heidi is excited! when do you leave??

Okay, off to unpack, clean, look at the weeds and frog poop that has to be cleaned off the front porch @@.

Guess I'm the only one here tonight...this is my lame attempt at "packing." Loading up as many CDs as possible so I can box them up.

I think it's usually called "avoidance," isn't it?

Okay...I'm so busy I don't even know where to start!!!!! :upsidedow

Just wanted to say HELLO to everybody! :grouphug:

Heidi, we need to finalize our plans..:yay: ...I'm going to check if you're on MSN right now. If we don't hook up, just PM me your cell #!!! I promise I won't sell it to the highest bidder (Rob!) :rolleyes1

Hello Hello Hello

Woohoo

I have one more full day of waiting!!!!!

Cheryl: Working on your little request ;)

Lisa: PM'ing the info shortly!

PJ: Glad your first day went well!!!! Too bad about the other thing :(

Liz: Time for a break!

Rob: Dunno what to say right now ....

Jean:  cause you're always around somewhere

Yay for Blue! So, from here on out, you're too excited to sleep until you get to WDW? :confused3

Whaaaat? Hey! There are other people anxiously waiting to hear a report on PJ's first day too. PJ -- hope you can find your way here or to MSN soon so we can share in your good tidings or commiserate with you or both. ETA: Ok, I have been informed that technical difficulties have prevented PJ from making an appearance tonight. Hopefully she will get that resolved soon.

Bump! Somebody dropped this thread and I found it laying around on Page 3...

Congrats, blue. Lick a Mickey head for me. Ice cream, that is.

Congrats to you Heidi - I have 3 more!

Can I mentioned that I am offended that Lisa didn't give me her cell number? I knew she was going to avoid me.
She won't give it to me either Squiddy. And, for the life of me, I just can't understand why. :confused3 Surprisingly, some Nutters have. What were they thinking?

-- Rob

See, now PJ is such a sweet, respectful girl. After spending a few days with her I just wish my daughter was more like her. Her parents should be proud. Maybe my DD will grow out of this phase, I don't know.
 I'm sweet and respectful, Cheryl said so!!!! Seriously, Cheryl, sorry about the hard time your daughter gave you. I know it was stressing you out.

LOL he asks for you every day now. Maybe next time I need a babysitter for a few days I will fly you down!!
I WOULD SO BE ALL OVER THAT!!!!! You think I'm kidding, but I'm not. KJ and I would have a blast. You should so fly me down. And fly Crystina up here and let my parents try that out.

The school days are starting earlier this year so the two older boys leave the house by 6:35 a.m.
Really why is this necessary? I hate early mornings. Why would a school district do this to those poor children? WHY? WHY??? Just why? :confused3 I really don't like any time before 10am.

Oh, very nice, very true.
I was thinking it meant that you went to your friend's house, smoked pot then walked over the marijuana plants on your way out. lol
J/K
:rotfl2: Rob, your explanation and the quote were nice and all but I'm going with Cheryl's thoughts on the matter.

JT:

This may be slightly different at my kids school because we are in a growing district that hires a lot of new teachers every year but...

My guess is that you will NOT be the only nervous teacher at the school on the first day (or even days). And remember the students will be a bit nervous also. By the time the students calm down and get in tune enough to notice any issues you might be having, you will have gotten your feet grounded your ownself so it will all be fine.

I said this in a MSN session and I meant it: I honestly think you will be a fine teacher. Remember you do have some past experience (working with kids on ballet) and you had the days in the classroom last Spring where you did awesome (once you learned to sit somewhat still -- ha!). You WILL be great PJ. Maybe not the very first day but you will calm down and get settled and then you will do an excellent job.

I'm sure the kids will love you. (Everyone else does -- remember? You tell us that all the time. ;) )

-- Rob
DUH everyone loves me! I mean really, who wouldn't? Seriously though, thanks for the kind words.

Okay, off to unpack, clean, look at the weeds and frog poop that has to be cleaned off the front porch @@.
You want to talk about weeds? Tell these people about my old front porch. :sad2:

Well I'm allowed to call and text some people, ya know, so they get like live PJ updates throughout the day. Because I just know they care. :rolleyes1 But what is with my internet always crashing? That doesn't happen to the average person as much as it does to me.

And here you thought that was all I had to say...AS IF!

Yesterday was my first day at my school, like I said. I just met a lot of people and we worked on setting up the classroom. Today we did pretty much the same thing and we got done early. I'll normally be done around 3:30. Our kids came in today for an orientation so I got to meet all of them. Here's a strange yet probably not interesting story...

We have 2 sets of twins in our room. Our room contains grades 1-3. They're both from the same family. One set is in 1st grade and one in 3rd. AND and there is another set of twins in this SAME family in 5th grade. AND they have a 7th grader. AND the father just passed away. :sad1: Can you even imagine?

We went over the curriculum today and the teacher asked me if there was anything I would like to add. I said ballet so I am going to be teaching a ballet lesson every Thursday morning. The kids should be professionals by the time I get done with them!

In other news my cousin ran my car into the wall of the garage. (sure hope my parents are reading this :rolleyes1 ) The drivers side door is dented and scratched pretty bad. Never again will I let someone drive my car. The end.
