Hi every one,

So after 11 months off work tomorrow is my first day back after maternity leave. I'm excited in the sense of going back to a job I enjoy (hairdressing)
I'm scared about leaving my DD for a whole day do the first time!
I'm please that DH will get some quality time with her!
I'm anxious about returning back to a team of staff I have had very little to do with feel like the new girl lol!

I know I don't post here much but I would love to know how you all felt before your first day back to work after a long break (I don't just mean a WDW break lol)

Also could it happen at a worse time a week before Xmas? Atleast I'm off again till new years eve! :)

I have 3 daughters. With the first, I had terrible guilt and was convinced that nobody could look after her to my standards. I actually left instructions on how to make her weetabix for my MIL ( a mother of 4) How ridiculous! Going back to work has a much more dramatic effect on the mother than the child!

After the first day back at work, it was like I'd never been away. As a mother, you get so good at multi-tasking, that work isn't a problem.;)

Best of luck.:)

:wizard: I just wanted to wish you lots of luck for tomorrow hun, I'm sure after 1/2 an hour of chatting with your clients you'll feel like you've never been away, have a lovely first day back ::yes::

wishing you luck for tomorrow, sure you will be fine, and as Mandy says it will probably be like you have never been away!:goodvibes
when you have kids, guilt follows you everywhere no matter what you do!! :goodvibes

but I would love to know how you all felt before your first day back to work after a long break (I don't just mean a WDW break lol)
Absolutely dreadful but within half an hour of being back it was fine, honestly.

Actually I don't think it could happen at a better time. You'll be too busy to worry too much and everyone will be in a Christmassy mood so will be understanding if you do feel a little tearful.

Hope it all goes well.

Hope all goes well today. Sure you will have it enjoyed it. :goodvibes

Guilt follows you around. My daughter is twenty and this is our first Christmas apart and I feel so guilty but it can't be helped this year.

Thanks every one I survived my first day back lol! It was ok wasn't as busy as I had hoped so the day went quiet slow! Missed Elsie terribly!

Jools I am so glad I'm not the only one that felt guilt on friday i couldnt let her go felt I had to make the most of every second with her!

Ware bears I think you may have been right! With it being Xmas I always had something to talk about not just Elsie! Lol I'm a parent now and have become one I those people that talks about their kids all the time lol!

Glad the first day went well :) The guilt diminishes with each subsequent child you have ;)

More children

Thanks every one for commenting though feel so much better just being able to offload my thoughts on to any one who isnt actually involved! If you know what I mean!

Glad the first day back went well. I found it hard when i returned in May after 56weeks maternity Leave/Holiday. It took me a while to get used to leaving my daughter but i soon found myself back in the swing of things and as awful as it sounds actually enjoying the "break" away from Megan.

lol! I think in time it will feel like a break! I am only doing one day a week and with it being Christmas Eve Im not working this weekend so its going to be a while till I am in a routine of it I think!

Just felt guilty for leaving her and couldnt stand the thought if anything happened and I couldnt be there and would blame myslef! Im feeling better about it now!

When i left my eldest i cried all the way to work. You do get over it and i really enjoy the adult time with colleagues. Just se this as time for you with grown ups:)
