Misty Mate vs. Misty Fan?

I just found out about these Misty Mates and I'd like everyone's opinion on them. I used the misty fan from Disney on my trip last summer, which worked well. Leaving in a week and I'm wondering if I should run out to Wal-Mart to purchase a Misty Mate. Are they a lot better than the fans? I would appreciate any opinions. Thanks so much! :flower:

We got a misty mate and weren't impressed with it at all. It might have been a bit better if we would have filled it with ice + water rather than just cold water (although the directions say it's not necessary), but if there's no breeze it just makes you feel more wet.

We shelled out the $17 for one of the misting fans for my dd and we all liked using it. The fan made all the difference.

We love our Misty Mates. The fan gets caught in DD hair when she gets too close and even though they are foam, it is hard to untangle. We do put an ice cube in the Misty Mate and it stays cool as it melts. Good luck on your choice. WE LOVE THEM.... :cold: :wave2:

I love my Misty Mate! I use it all the time. I live in the desert where it's been over 110 for a few days now.

My in laws invited us cherry picking on Sunday so I took it there. Everyone wanted to stand near me but I was greedy with my mist because everyone was making fun of me for having it before (shared with my kids of course but definitely not adults who called me a nerd! LOL). After cherry picking, mother in law and sister in law went right to Walmart to get their own which really says something because for SIL to step foot in a Walmart she must have really wanted one. :rotfl:

Yesteray I needed to go clothes shopping for me and I bribed 6 year old DS and he said I would buy him anything he wanted if he was good. He wanted his own Misty Mate. LOL

I use it when I first get in the car because even though I have a new car that has good air conditioning it still takes a bit to feel cool even when it's on full blast. When I got in my car yesterday it said the temp outside was 124! :sad2:

I also used mine on Saturday when we went to an outdoor outlet mall. Everyone was jealous of my mist because it was about 115 there and I was fine with my Misty Mate.

They are about $14 at our Walmart here so if you can afford to pay that to try it you might want to get one and just try it before you go and see if you like it. That's what I did with mine. I figured I'd try it when we went out on the 4th of July and if it worked I would put it away for Disney World. Well, I haven't wanted to put it away! But if you don't like it, Walmart has a good return policy and if you keep the packaging and receipt they should take it back if you just tell them it didn't work like you thought it would.

We bought one first visit and used it some, but every other time we have went it just stays packed in my rubber maid tub. We have found we like the misty fans a lot better. Guess we like the breeze of the fan after being sprayed, not to mention the fan is nice without the spray too.
