Can someone tell me what these cost?? I have read several different prices. I read 12, 14 and 17$. I found them on line for 7.99 plus shipping but the cost would be equal to 12.00 at Disney. I want to know if I should buy them ahead and pack them or wait and get them at Disney. Thanks for any info on this. :sunny:

You can go to walmart. Someone just posted recently they paid 4.95 for them. I've gotten ours there last year and I paid around the same price. Add the cost of AA batteries and you still come out a bit ahead.

Oh misting fans what wonderful things. I am sure they help to cool ppl off but I can tell you on our last trip there was more than one child I wanted to deck because of those things. If you are buying them for your children please ask them to watch where they are spraying them.

I had the unfortunate pleasure of waiting in line behind a kid who kept spraying other ppl like it was some kind of water gun. I cannot tell you how many times I had to take my glasses off and wipe the water off so I could see where I was walking.

misting fans are a MUST in the hot weather! I think I bought ours a while ago in Target. I did see them recently in Walmart too!!

Thank you for your responses so far. I am wondering the cost in the park. I figure it might be less of a hassle to not have to pack them.

I just bought 2 of them last week at our Disney Store for $2.99/piece. They had a bunch of their summer stuff clearanced....sunglasses for the kids for $1.50! Might be worth a look if you have a store near you!

CVS has them too, all different sizes and colors

I did the same thing!!!! I bought mine in the beginning of June and paid
$7.50 though, so you did good!!!!!! I think they were $15.00 in the parks!!!!!! I like the ones from the Disney store better too because the ones in the parks have a very large bottle attached to the fan, and it looked very uncomfortable to carry. I used my little one all the time, all day long (just got back last week), and I only had to fill it up one time a day! I also never had to replace the batteries!!!!!

For the same price you can get an even better product, the Misty Mate Sport. I was recently at Walgreens in Melrose, MA and saw them for 9 bucks. Someone on the DIS told us about them a couple of years ago and we swear by them. With the number of times i've posted about them on this board, I bet we're starting to sound like a paid advertiser (we're not).

We bought the three large bottles with fans at walmart but then found O2 at Kmart. They are small but have a carabiner to clip them onto stroller, waist, etc so they don't hang on our necks. They will have to be filled ofter but that keeps the water cooler. Both were $4.95

I paid $15 in the park four years ago. I am heading to Wal Mart for the cheap ones this time!

Ditto the poster who paid $15 4 years ago - we did also - X 2 so each child could have one. I'm still bitter about it! Won't be making that mistake again -Even though it will be a pain to squeeze them in, I'm packing those same fans that cost me $30 to take with us in September. And if I didn't still have them I'd be buying the $5 version to pack. :wave2:

I just spent about two hours trying to find these.

First, the Disney Store was sold out but the cashier told me that they are almost $20 in the park. She said it was worth trying Target or Walmart.

Target told me that they were gone because they are seasonal and they have Back to School stuff out now.

Finally, I found them at Walmart, for $4.95. They were in the fan department!

Good luck!

My MIL bought them for my 2 kids in the park in May and they were $17 each!!! Her money, not mine, I thought that was way too much. But we have used them at home and at the beach on hot days.

Are the Disney mister fans more durable than the ones from Wal-Mart? Is there a noticeable difference in quality, or just the "name"? My DD8 dropped her new fan from WM (bought for the upcoming trip before they aren't in "season" anymore). It only fell about a foot onto the plush carpeted floor, and cracked (at the base of the neck where it screws onto the bottom). So off to Wally World I went for another. I've now got $10 invested, praying this one doesn't break!

The ones I bought today at Walmart seem to be good quality. I also like that the fan "blades" are actually made of foam. My son can find ways to hurt himself with anything!
