Mistakes in Magical Express Booklet

I booked my trip using a travel agent, but the Poly IPO made my ME reservations. I received the tags yesterday, but the tags/booklet were a mess. First - only two out of the 5 of us had arriving flight information listed, and none of us had a departing flight listed. Second - the names were butchered beyond belief.

Does any of that matter? We are leaving in 3 weeks, so there is time for them to issue new tags and put the correct flight information in. I'm able to do this myself on the convention site, as I booked with a large group.

WWYD?

You wont have any departing information on your tags. You wont want them on when you leave as the luggage is not going back to Disney. :)

It was the booklet that showed no departing info. The tags themselves don't have this on it. The tags have the butchered names. :) You need to have departing flight information to get a bus reservation.

My question is does it matter what the tag has on it (names wrong, etc.) or do I just call and have them make sure the correct information is listed and get a return trip booked.

Actually, there shouldn't be arriving information on the tags either, because DME doesn't need that information - they only need your name and what hotel your luggage is going to.

Again, the problem is the booklet not having flight info for most of the party.

The tags have the wrong names, including mine.

My question is do the wrong names on the tags matter. I know they use a bar code scanner to find the reservation. Will the airport have a problem with the bad names.

Which isn't what your post originally said - I can see you've since edited it. Also, your response in post #3 wasn't yet showing when I replied.

The title was always booklet, but everyone is responding about the tags. I clarified in the hope that my question might get answered.

Departing flight info can be given once you're there. There is no reason to worry about that right now, which is just a variation on the theme of the answers already given about that. :)

As for the name, I doubt they really care when you're there. The info is in the barcoding on the tags. The info about DME is on your MDE (why are those acronyms so close?), so if you have your magicbands to scan it'll come up.

I don't think anyone here thinks either is going to make much of a difference, but there's no harm (unless they mess it up MORE LOL) in calling to have the names fixed.

I would contact Magical Express to let them know: (866) 599-0951. You could also re-submit the information on the Convention Website, and check off yes where it says "Have you previously provided Disney's Magical Express with flight information for this trip?".

The travel agent used a different email address for me when he put in the original reservation request with the WDW Conference Travel unit. I linked the reservation to my MDE account e-mail. I do not see any DME info in MDE. I decided to contact DME to fix all the issues, including linking everything to the correct e-mail. I'm not comfortable leaving it as it is right now.

We have had issues with the wrong info for flights - if you are a DVC member - call MS they will take care of this for you - if there is time new info will be sent to you.
If there is not time just change your booklet after calling ME all will be fine at the ME desk at MCO. This is not a problem.

It is usually better to fix homebound Magical Express information after you get there. Less of a chance of messing up the Disneybound information.

If time is too short to get it corrected, your DME booklet will get you on the bus to your resort even if you wrote in corrections over a butchered name. For incorrect yellow baggage tags, draw one line through any incorrect information and write in the corrected information.

If arriving flight information you gave fails to appear on your DME documents then that does not matter.

Thank you!

DME is seldom seen on MDE! So, that shouldn't be an issue. If the reservation number is correct, on the luggage tags, then just correct the names. As long as there is a tag for each person, it shouldn't be an issue. Just cross out the incorrect name, and write in the correct name...being careful not to go near the barcode!
For your return trip to MCO, arrange for that when you get to WDW. It's not an issue. Just head to the front desk and have them add it, no later than the day before you depart.
It really doesn't matter what's in the 'booklet'..or on the sheet of paper we now get.

This is why I seldom use a TA...I want complete control of my reservation, start to finish. If a TA books it, they 'own' the reservation until you're standing there, checking in.

I hear you on the complete control - but this time the price was just too good to pass up. I'm glad that as long as I have a tag for each person, I can correct the info on there myself. It was the missing arrival time for 3 of the 5 of us concerned me the most, and that the email they had for us didn't match MDE. I think I'm good now, though. Fingers crossed! 18 days to go!.

Even if all your Magical Express information shows correctly, you still need to be sure you get your confirmation back to the airport at your room the morning before the day you will leave and you need to verify that the bus time is correct (about 3 hours before your flight for regular domestic flights).
