When making our reservations, etc. for our December trip, we renewed our PAPs for dh, myself, and dd. This trip we are taking grandma and grandpa, and also one of their other granddaughters. I mistakenly ordered them new PAPs--but now I realize that I should have gotten them something else....we will only be there for 1 week, and they won't return at all during the next year. (we, of course, will go to WDW three times this year, LOL) Before I could call back to change them, the plastic voucher thing-ys arrived. Can I change their tickets when we get there to simple APs, or something else? Should I call now? Also, while I am stressing out over this, please remind me where I go to exchange them at WDW....it's all becoming a blur right now--that's what I get for planning these last minute trips, and then telling the whole family to come along--I'll take care of all the details....

Sorry, but I don't believe you are ever allowed to "down grade" WDW passes. Only upgrade.

I agree with Belle5. You can UPgrade with no problem at all, but I've never heard of them agreeing to DOWNgrade tickets. However, that said, go to Guest Services at the front of any park and plead your case. Who knows? Maybe they'll sprinkle some magic your way.

Good luck! And, have fun no matter how this turns out.

Once we had PAP and when renewal time came we decided that the regular AP would better suit us. So I called the AP office and asked if I could "downgrade" and the CM said no problem. So when I called to do it at a later date, the CM said you can't downgrade, and I told her that I had called and talked to ?? and she said I could, so since I was given the wrong information earlier, I was allowed to do it, but was told that they don't do this. Considering your circumstances and it was a mistake, Disney may still accomodate you. Try calling and talking to the AP office, get a name, and see if they will let you do it this one time. They did for me, so am sure that they do make exceptions.

The "AP office" (407-560-PASS) is CRO. Don't waste your time calling them. Call Disney and ask to speak to Guest Relations, no one else. Explain to them what happened. They are the only ones who can help you. Not saying that they will, just that they are the only ones who can.

Your worst case scenario if they tell you no is either of these:
1) You activate the PAP's for them and learn your lesson for the next time.

2) You hold onto the PAP vouchers for yourself to use in the future (there is no name or ID on them, anyone can use them) and purchase the AP's for your relatives when they arrive at the gate. Or there's always eBay. ;)

n2mm: You can always change from a PAP to an AP when renewing and you will get the renewal price on the AP as well. The 2nd CRO CM that you talked to was the one that gave you the wrong information. Luckily, she still did it for you. Funny how something you're told you can't do can suddenly be done, isn't it?

I thought that the "no downgrading" rule only applied if you had already used/activated your pass. Being that you haven't, I would think that Disney would either refund or change it for you. Definitely call asap; don't wait to get there. Good luck and please post what happens.

Most passes say "no refunds" on them, I believe the vouchers do also.
I hope that the OP can have this taken care of to her benefit and I, too, would like to hear what happens.
