Oops! Just noticed that I spellled someone's name wrong when I purchased our airline tickets. Instead of Kevin it says Keein. What do I need to do to fix it? I thought I had read before that they will just be subject to extra screening at the security check point. Is that right?

Well, at least it is only the ticket home I screwed up on. He can get to Disney, but if worst comes to worst he can just stay there!:headache:

You will need to call the airline to get it fixed. A passenger's name has to be the same as their legal documents. It's OK if it's a shortened version of the name (i.e., Rob instead of Robert) - but a misspelling has to be corrected.

I did that exact same thing 2 month ago:scared1:
This was Delta Airlines.
The next day (booked late at night) i called their reservation number.
I said what happend and she said that the ticket was issued and she had to send it to "the back office".
This will take about 2 weeks and the correct name will be fixed she said.
This is obviously not a problem if its an OBVIOS typo.
After 3 days my name was change to the correct one.:goodvibes

This happens to us a lot with lots of things - our surname is an unusual spelling of an otherwise very common name.

Flight wise we have had this occur twice in the past 18 months, for both Qantas and Southwest - on both occasions they changed it immediately over the phone.

Honestly, you won't have any issues if you go to the airport with the name mispelled, you might get asked a question or two, but nothing big.

I did this two weeks ago. I called the airline and changed it with no problem. Our flight was last week and everything was fine. :thumbsup2
