Misspelled name on Magical Express tags?

I'm wondering if this is important or not...

My name is the primary name for the reservation (it's written in bold letters on all our tags). It's spelled correctly.

My husband's last name, however, has an extra letter stuck in the middle. I noticed the error online last month and called Disney to correct it, but evidently the change didn't get put through, because it's spelled wrong on his Magical Express tags.

Does this matter? I know it'll probably annoy him, but if it's not something that will cause any problems with having our bags shipped by air or delivered to our rooms, then I won't bother trying to get it fixed. I've learned the hard way that sometimes trying to fix small problems just leads to bigger problems down the road, whenever computers are involved! :upsidedow

So... is there any reason to correct his name? Or should we just leave it misspelled?
 
Nope, wont matter. They are not super picky about the magical express stuff. Regardless, the magical express counter with their customer service is right there so if you have any issues you can get them addressed nearby.

I have had people come with me that didnt have the same name (changed plans/people coming with us), they are just more concerned about one person per ticket.

the important part of a DME luggage tag is the bar code...it won't matter if the name is wrong.

If it really bothers him, you can cross out the name and write it in (we have done that before). The barcode is keyed to you though, so you are fine.

I think it's just because there's always some sort of trouble with his reservation, poor guy!

Last trip, we tried to put the vacation in his name, because he was paying for it and thought it was a bit strange to see everything called "The Magpie Family Vacation", especially considering the kids don't have my last name. But the computer system refused to recognize the change and instead dropped him altogether and had me travelling with my clone! A few phone calls later, we thought we had that sorted, but then Magical Express shipped tags for everyone... except him! That was pretty stressful a week before the vacation.

He makes jokes sometimes about "Disney doesn't love me!" So it was particularly funny to see that they misspelled his name, this time around. Oh... and then his billing statement went to Switzerland instead of Canada. :lmao:

I like the idea of just crossing his name out and writing it in the correct way. :goodvibes

I just received my ME tags on Saturday, my DD's name was spelled wrong. I knew from last time this happen was to just cross it out and write her name. I had to call Member Service about a question and mentioned that my DD name was wrong, he said to be safe he was sending out new tags. Because her name was wrong everywhere even for check-in and room keys. That was on Tues. Today I received an UPS envelope with new tags for everyone. Super fast ME:thumbsup2
