Mission: Space is an excellent ride that uses a unique technology (centrifuge) to spin your car and create G-forces that simulates a rocket lifting off. The trick to not becoming sick on Mission: Space is to KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN and focus strait ahead in the "window" (which is actually a video of the lift off synched with the spinning) It confuses your mind and inner ear (which controls balance) into experiencing forward/vertical movement. Closing your eyes or turning your head will disturb this process and allow you to really feel the spinning. (Boy is it fast!) In the summer of 2003 I had the opportunity to test ride Mission: Space and found it to be pretty intense. I did feel sick afterwards. I rode it again this summer and found that it has been made much less intense and I do not feel in anyway affected after the ride. The ride cannot really be compared to star tours or anything else. I recommend trying the ride and making sure to keep your head back against the headrest and you eyes open while focusing all your attention forward. If you really try to believe you are flying, or focus on hitting your buttons for the mission, you will probably not notice the spinning.

This is my favorite ride at WDW and I'd hate for someone to miss it because of a bad experience on star tours or body wars.

ohh, its about 10 times smoother than star tours/body wars, you dont get rocked around, its very smooth.

To tell you the truth..its just a really expensive gravitron if you know what i mean. They hype it up to be like this huge ride that every1 pukes on..unless you're super sensitive..i don't think you'll have a problem. They put bags in in case you have to throw up, but honestly, its really not bad at all. Its fun though :D

M:S is really cool, I hope you're fine on it, you should be okay if you do what they tell you to (face forward etc.)

I was shaking when I got off!!!! :yo-yo: ................L

Like someone already said, make sure you look straight ahead at what's in front of you, and keep your head all the way back. If you get claustrophobic, motion sickness easily, or get sick from simulation, then you should skip this ride. Otherwise, it's an awesome ride!

Definitely make sure you look straight ahead if you ride it.

I rode it in Oct. and I was shaking when I got off and naseous for over an hour afterwards. I have ridden Tower of Terror and Rock N Roller Coaster with no problem and have no problems with other simulators. This one was horrible for me, but I am glad I did it, just to say I did.

If you will just be naseous, I say do it so you can have it over with and not always wonder. If you think you will actually throw up, don't. :D

I love Mission: Space. It's my favorite ride in WDW. Even if you think you'll feel sick, you should do it anyways. My dad went on it and got a little nauscious, but he still thinks it was worth it. You'll never forgive yourself if you pass up this opportunity. It really is a great ride. And, if you want to get a fast pass, you better get there really early because they run out real easily. We went to get them at 10 am and the time for them was already 9 pm.

For people getting sick on Mission space it is different person to person. Some people in my family felt sick right after the ride. i on the other hand got really tired and didnt feel 100% a few hours later. it just depends on who you are.

I'm afarid to try this ride! I can usually handle spinning but I've heard of so mnay people feeling sick afterwards. My brother absolutely can't STAND spinning (he won't even go on Men in Black at Universal since your car spins when it gets hit) so I think he'll have to sit this one out. I might too ... e'll have to see!

i have been wanting to go and ms. my mom went to the food and wine festival and rode it. she said it was awesome so i am looking foward to riding it in june 2005. she said that the spinning didn't bother her.

OMG im the only on in my family besides my dad that likes that ride ...some guys in the car before us threw up so they had to move us somewhere else but i still went on it i thought it was fun just dont close your eyes ;)

I went on it right after I ate food for like 5 times! When I got off, I felt fine. Maybe I have a strong stomach? Hmm....

They make it seem so real! I love the game at the end. It's some game where there are problems on a ship and you have to fix them to get a boost. Who ever crosses the finish first, WINS!!! I win and I loose, but all and all, it's still fun! They make the ride so realistic and cool. I really liked it. I went on it as I said 5 times in a row and I thought nothing of it. If you ever think of going on, I think that you will really like it.

i had just gotton of the cruise and we were goin 2 disney 4 2 days i went on mission space and i turned green i am not really that sennsative either i neva get sick on rides

hey, ive ridden misson space 5 times in one day and i never got sick i loved it. when my stepmom read all the things she got freaked out and left at the chicken exit. but truely i couldnt feel the spinning just it really excererates u at blast of time.! its a blast tho. its one of my favorites. and to tell u the truth i wanted to see if i would get sick by looking at different places and putting my head up and i didnt and my dad took pictures on the ride and now we have really cool pictures of the movie! it looks like it is really real! but go on it and have fun!

I rode on it for the first time today and all I can say is wow. It's an intense ride that will hopefully open the door for other rides that can use the same technology.

As for getting/feeling sick ... I made myself more nauseated thinking about what it would be like. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

Just do it ... keep your head back, eyes open and looking forward
