So, it's been refurbished, I see. What's new with this attraction, please? Is the kid version (less hectic one) still pretty darn vanilla? Is the adult version much different than it used to be?

Thanks.

The green mission (less intense) is an entirely new version.

the green team less intense mission is entirely new and takes you around earth's orbit--i haven't been on this side, but i assume it'll be more family-oriented, so, about as vanilla as before. the orange team more intense mission is identical to the original, but with improved visuals and a new voiceover. the actual simulation is exactly the same, so it's basically a new coat of paint

We did the new Green mission. It's MUCH less intense than the old Green version. You essentially fly over earth's atmosphere. There is still the G-force of taking off and re-entering. The only shaking is when you pass through a storm on re-entry and when you land. And even that is minimal.

We were in Epcot twice last week. The orange version had a 120-140 minute wait and the green version had only a 10 minute wait. Guess people like getting spinned around.

The intense side does not have a new mission - just the other side changed missions. On the intense side, the video changed to new actors but it seemed like the exact same narration. We went right after it reopened and didn't realize it was basically the exact same ride, just with the actors switched out.

We hope to try the other side, since it really did change, next trip.

You still feel G forces on the green? How bad is it? I'm on the fence about getting on this as well as taking my 8 year with me.

Also does anyone know how long you are actually in the ride vehicle? Not including the pre show videos.

You don't feel g forces on green like you do on orange. Green side tilts but nothing intense.

Orange spins quickly to simulate the G forces

There are no g forces on green - it doesn't spin. We went on green last Wednesday. There was a broken motor so two bays were down ( one green, one orange) which accounted for really long wait times. I have no idea if it's fixed at this point. Green was super boring, IMHO and I wish they had kept the Mars mission.

Ok I think ill try green. Orange would be way to intense for me. Thanks!

We've got a FP for Mission Space... can we take the orange version? Don't want to wait an hour ... i hope FP will work.

I rode the new green a couple of weeks ago. It's horrible. They should have kept it the same. It is boring and you don't really see anything.

The green version is real vanilla, but a cool ride.

I would say its not worth waiting too long for.

Well you aren't in outer space so you will feel exactly 1 G of force on your body the same as if you were sitting on a park bench, with a tiny bit more because you are in a pod that moves back and forth and side to side. During launch they tilt you back a bit and shake a little, but that's it.

From when the ride actually starts it is about 4 minutes long.
You are typically in the ride vehicle for a couple minutes longer than that to get your stuff put away, get your harness in place, get checked by a cast member, etc.

As for an 8 year old, they should be fine. My kids have been riding Green since they were 4 years old without any issue. It is really, really tame unless you are claustrophobic. My kids stepped up to Orange when they hit 8 or 9.
