I was just wondering our DS 4 is 44inches and I wanted to see if anyone else took there 4 year old on this. I have always been fine riding it but I am a little nervous to take him on it with all the people I always see getting so sick from it. I am thinking that we will probably wait till he gets a little older but I wanted to see if anyone else has. Any advice?

Even non spinning it may still be frightening to young children, it seems very realistic there are periods of complete darkness, loud noises and you are 'crashing'. My DS at 4 was a huge scaredy cat so we skipped it, he is 6 this year and I am considering it but still not sure if he handle it even on green yet.

Since you have been on it think about the hypersleep wake up sceen where the alarms go off bringing out of sleep, do you think that will frighten him?

We did the Mission Space green side with my just-turned 6 yo and 2 slightly older siblings and they all loved it. It was my 6YO's favorite ride of all of the parks. Your 4 YO probably will not be focusing too intensely on the screen anyway (might be looking at the buttons :-)) so I think you'd be okay.

Have fun!!

My 5 year old enjoyed this on the the green side, but she loves all kinds of rides including roller coasters, ToT, etc. so use your judgment.

Take him on the tamer Green (non-spinning) side first.

I agree with this but I have to question your "all the people that get sick on this" comment. There are many, many, many more people that don't get sick on the orange side than do get sick. You only hear about the ones that do have a reaction. In my immediately family, I know of 11 people and none have gotten sick from it. And I didn't go out to the discussion board and say "we all rode Mission:Space and we were fine!". You only hear negatives, you rarely hear positives.

Every kid is different. My son, at age 4, went on a jet simulator on a navy ship in San Diego. It went upside down, spun, and crashed. He LOVED it. Begged to go on it again and again. He is fearless about roller coasters (the little ones he can ride). But, he's also afraid of 3D! Philharmagic scares him. So, go figure. :)

I think we will try it, he loves ToT and everything so it will probably be another one we go on like five times. And I totally agree with not always hearing about the positive, I just always look here first for advice...lol call me crazy!

We took our dd as soon as she was tall enough and has loved it ever since.

My DD's are 6 and 8 and rode it for the first time last week...and rode it, and rode it again! It was a favorite ride! They loved it, especially that they had a "job" and buttons to push etc. Way cool. Right up there with Test Track and Soarin for them as favorites.

My niece was 4.5 yrs old when she went on and she didn't like it.

We will see if she wants to ride this year. I know she doesn't want to ride HM, of course I want to as they have changed the que area and the ending of the ride.

I get motion sickness just watching a carousel, but my DD really wanted to go on the orange side with her dad as soon as she was tall enough. We figured that since she was fine on the tea cups, she would probably be okay on ms. She did the green side first, loved it, and was fine on the orange side. The tea cups are a good test for how much spinning one can tolerate.

We took my DS two years ago when he was 4 and he loved it. He's the only one that will go on ToT with me. His older brothers won't go on ToT, but we all love mission space. So, using ToT as a guide, you'll be fine on mission space, even the spinning side. We've never done green and never gotten sick.

The "jobs" thing is too funny with us... my 8 yr old dd will obsess the whole time in line until she's sure she can be the commander!
