Yes, it sounds strange, but my question is:

I get really dizzy and nauseated on the spinning rides like PW
and wonder if this is what I will feel on Mission space?

thanks

if you can not take pw, i'd say at least take dramamine or the like for ms..pw is jerkier but hubby didn't get sick on that like he did on ms (he's prone to m.otion s.ickness...hey same initials as m.ission s.pace...take that as an omen!!!

I am fine on PW I was a little "off" after riding MS.

I wouldn't ride "Primeval Whirl" if I had a bad back or neck. It's nasty.

Mission: SPACE - Avoid! I loved the experience, and I would do it again, but it does make you light headed.

If you follow the rules (keep your head back and focus on the screen), you will not experience a spinning sensation. I have been on the ride twice. First time I was a bit light headed for a couple of hours after. Second time was more fun. :earsboy:

Hi. I am not terribly prone to motion sickness and this was my dd7's first time on rides like these. She didn't have a problem on either on. She even rode mission space twice. Me Primeval whirl was fun. I did get off a little dizzy, but not extreme at all. Mission space on the other hand was awful for me. I followed all the rules but still felt terrible for a couple hours afterwards. I can't see out of one eye and that may have effected me more. I won't ride that again. I didn't see anyone getting off MS sick. Some people didn't feel good but I didn't see anything severe. I say try it once, mabye with some antinausea stuff onboard and see how it goes.

I suggest doing M:S at the end of the day and perhaps taking Dramamine if you are prone to sickness- I was a little concerned about riding it on my last trip, but I decided to give it a try and I loved it! It is a ride I believe everyone should experience. Concerning your question about the difference between the two rides, M:S is definitely more intense. However, I suggest that you immerse yourself in the "space" idea of M:S rather than thinking about how your capsule is actually spinning--although I do not have motion sickness and neither of these rides negatively affected me, I would imagine PW could cause more nausea because you are knowledgeable that you are spinning and dipping in broad daylight--M:S involves more intensity rather than dizziness. I was slightly lightheaded getting off of my capsule on M:S, but found I was back to normal after a couple minutes--my father, on the other hand, was queasy for a couple hours. Again, I recommend that you not eat right beforehand and you ride it later on to ensure it will not ruin your day should it give you problems. I thought it was an incredible ride and I do not think you should let your fears stop you from giving it a try!

The sensations are completely different.

On PW I felt like I was being thrashed about. The swings and dips are fast and short. I didn't feel sick after, more like I was beaten up.

On MS the G-forces cause a sensation of pressure. I felt it mostly on my head and upper body. On one ride I felt a bit breathless too. I've always followed the instructions of head back and eyes focused on the screen and never felt sick after.

I'd be careful on Mission:Space if you are prone to motion sickness. My dh was definitely ill and could barely move for about 4 hours after doing that ride, and he did follow the instructions very carefully about keeping his head back and only looking at the screen and took a Bonine that morning. He had a bad headache, severe nausea, and tingling arms. He basically sat on a bench the entire time the rest of the family did the World Showcase. He says that he has no one to blame but himself, because he knew that he was prone to motion sickness and should have listened to the warnings. He also told me that he was very aware of the spinning. Take off felt like spiraling up to him.

I rode it the following day as well, and I tried my hardest to feel the spinning but couldn't. I only felt the pressure. I think it's just biological for some people.
