Mission Space Previewers???

We did a preview ride on Saturday, July 5 around 530. It was amazing!!! The CMs we spoke with said that they anticipate the previews continuing through July unless they need to make some major changes at some point. I would suspect the previews may continue through until the "soft" opening on Aug 15. The previews do seem to be hit or miss - we got in line and waited about 30 mins, we on hold for launch once in the capsule due to technical difficulties for about 3 minutes and when we exited the ride, the CM said they were taking the ride down for an hour for something (she didn't specify what).

If you have the chance to ride it, I say go for it because "We choose to go"

My husband was able to ride MS on our recent trip(June 30-July10). The day we went to Epcot he talked to one of the cast members who told him that they are pretty much testing the ride after 4pm each day (I believe it's M-F). He was also told that the way to know if they are testing the ride is if the black wall at the enterance is open. The day he rode it they had a power burst and temporarily had stopped testing but were allowing people into the room that is after the ride. We were able to send cool postcards home and they had a really neat launch race that about 30 people are able to participate in. The room also has a play area (tubes they can crawl through) for children. We must have spent an hour in this room and had to drag everyone out. I didn't ride the ride but I'm glad we were able to participate in the post room.

Will it be previewed on July 30th?

I think I read somewhere that Mission: Space will have a single riders line? Can someone verify this? Thanks!

Yes, there will be one. They're not using it during the soft opening (or if they do, that's a recent thing; things change all the time during this phase), but it'll definitely be an option after the ride opens officially on August 15.

I'm a coward, but I was bound and determined to give it a try. It was a lot less scary than I expected. I really think the key is to keep looking at the screen. Don't look away, don't turn your head and don't shut your eyes (DH decided to close his eyes during hyper-sleep and immediately felt the difference). As long as you concentrate on the screen, you won't feel the spinning.

3 out of 4 of us felt minor effects once we got off; my knees were a little shaky and the guys were a little queasy (not bad, but not normal). We agreed that it's not a ride to do over and over, you have to let your body settle down. DD, on the other hand, said she felt fine and could ride it over and over again. But what does she know, she's only 12?! ;) :teeth:

The first time we rode it, the anticipation and adrenalin sort of took over and we couldn't remember everything. We rode again the next day and really tried to pay attention to what was happening with the ride and with our bodies.

If you'll forgive the pun, take-off is a blast!

In a nutshell, I didn't find it too scary, it feels real, and do what they tell you. I can't wait to ride it again in October!

Pay attention to the warnings about motion sickness. Because of all of the motion sickness warnings, I chickened out the first day while DS and DH rode it and loved it.

I can ride Star Tours, RNR, Back to the Future. To me, this ride was nothing like them. However, I can't ride the tea cups without feeling sick.

The second day, I took 2 drammamine before getting on the ride. From the moment it started, I could feel the spinning. I was soooo nauseous. I couldn't get my eyes to focus on the screen; it was as if my eyes were spinning around in my head.

I didn't feel very well for the rest of the night.

I love rides ... but I doubt I'll get on this again.

I was really envious of most of the people who got off the ride saying it was awesome. It just didn't agree with me.

Looks like I'm going to have to do this one alone. My boyfriend really gets motion sickness. Star Tours did him in for the day.

A single line means no FASTTRACK?!?!?

What are the height restrictions, on this ride? My 7 yr old daughter, who is 44 inches, wants to go on this ride. She did not think that the Star Tours attraction was all that thrilling, at least compared to Back to the Future ride, at Universal Studios.

If you mean FastPass, which I think you do, don't worry. There will be both FastPass and Single Rider options available at Mission: SPACE, just like at Test Track.
As far as the height restriction goes, it's 44 inches, so your daughter should not have any problems being admitted.

Now we know why there aren't alot of astronauts.

I don't have motion sickness - and wanted to go on again before the ride was even over. I didn't feel the spinning, and neither did the three others in the pod with me. We all loved it. Of course, we also listened to the instructions. Yeah, there are alot of "It was great, but you gotta do this and that..." But being launched into space is the Greatest thrill ride of them all - so there bound to be a few caveats. :)

I will say that this is THE MOST INTENSE attraction I have ever been on. It is not Star Tours or Rocken Roller or Tower - it is like nothing else you've ever done (unless you Are an astronaut or air force pilot).

Is it worth the risk if you have motion sickness? Have you ever wanted to blast off into space? Then yes, pop some dramamine and go on the ride if to just find out what it's like. If you don't want to go to space - then don't go on M:S.
