Mission Space - Just got back

I managed to get on Mission:Space during a preview day. This ride is absolutely one of the best thrill rides on Earth. I had visited Universal Islands of Adventure just a day earlier and can safely say that Mission:Space is equal to, if not better than, Spiderman! As far as education goes, I can't admit that there is any real factual base involved. However one has to remember that Horizons, a beloved and wonderful attraction had little education and more inspiration as well. I still wish that Horizons could have been saved and will be very sad to lose Spaceship Earth. However, M:S has restored my faith in WDI and I can't wait to see Expedition Everest and the results of the Disneyland (California) Space Mountain rehab (2 years with a lot of rumors flying around).

By the way Webby, I did notice the Horizons symbol. I won't reveal its placement but I'm very glad that living up to Horizons was at the center of WDI's minds.;)

We rode this a couple of times on June 27th.

The g-force seemed very impressive to me (I have pulled just under 6 g's in an aircraft - this seemed to be about 2.5-3.5 or so). Although I am usually prone to motion sickness (*not* a Teacup person!), I did not feel queasy at all. However, I assiduously followed directions to look straight ahead. I was also able to fully immerse myself in the video display, and I think this helped. I did not get a spinning sensation at all the first time, and a very mild one the second time.

When I got off the ride both times I saw green-ish people sitting in the chairs as you exit, and they didn't appear to be Martians.

Does anybody know what the actual g-loading is?

This ride sounds awesome.

But I was wondering what is an 'ideal" age for this ride. My son really wants to try it out, he will be 4 on our next trip in December.
If he makes the height requirement, is this a ride for a 4 year old??

He can handle alot of rides, he loves the Dinosaur, Star Tours, Big Thunder, Haunted Manison, Tea Cups, etc.
The only ride at WDW that scared him a bit was Tower of Terror & he says it is because the drop. I think it takes his breathe away but he did say he will try it again when he gets bigger! LOL

I also think he could handle Space Mountain but he was an inch too short last time around so he could not go on it.

Guess I am just wondering if Mission Space is really for older kids (7+) or would a 4 year old enjoy it?
