Hello.... trying to plan our fast passes. We think we'll use on on Mission Space (the Green side). Please give me the low down... is it still a ride that induces major motion sickness? I've had trouble in the past with spinning (tea cups can do me in!). Also, what do you suggest to take to prevent motion sickness??

Green didn't give me any queasiness, and I get queasy on Tea Cups also if it's spun a lot. The forces exerted on Astro Orbiter are far greater than what Green does.

The green side doesn't spin, it just shakes to simulate motion. If you need something for motion sickness try Bonine. It's inexpensive and available just about everywhere. It might make you drowsy so plan on a jolt of caffeine.:)

To some people this ride still induces major motion sickness. My GF will not ride it - even the Green side. The tea cups do her in, too.

You're thinking of Orange. Green is about as gentle as they come, especially the new version. It is a tight space, so it could be an issue if you're claustrophobic.

Green side isn't bad unless you're claustrophobic...which I am...so I don't ride. Doubt it would make you nauseous though.

It's a simulator ride. If simulator rides tend to make you motion sick - then its likely you'll get sick. It's also a small space - which can heighten the ability of some folks to get motion sick.

Seconding the claustrophobia issue. That's mainly where the problem would be...I would think. It is a tight space. You could close your eyes if needed, but there's still minor rocking. Honestly, since they changed the film for the Green side...you aren't missing anything.

As PPs have mentioned, no spinning on Green but is a tight space so that may make some anxious. Maybe watch a ride through on youtube if not concerned about spoilers?

I'm very prone to motion sickness (no teacups or Astro Orbiter, had to close my eyes on FOP), but I didn't have much trouble with the Green side. No problems at all during the ride. Felt the tiniest bit queasy after, but only for a few minutes. It didn't negatively impact my day.

For motion sickness, in general, I wanted to second the recommendation for Bonine (or non-drowsy Draminine; both are meclazine). But, both make me drowsy if taken during the day. I take at night, starting a day or two before my trip. Taking at night allows the maximum drowsy effect to occur during the night, while you sleep. By day, I don't notice the drowsiness, and can ride anything except things that spin (i.e. Mission Space Orange, Teacups, Astro-orbiter...). I do this for the whole trip b/c it also helps me tolerate the plane flight better.

All great advice! How about the bracelets for motion sickness- does anyone have experience with these? Is there any type of Dramamine that is non drowsy?

There is, but from what I've heard it still makes some people drowsy.

I did the orange side of the attraction years ago right when it was still a relatively new ride. It didn't make me sick but my head felt a bit warped:tilt: for a few hours afterwards. It wasn't the worst thing every but it was not pleasant. Never really felt compelled to try it again until last month on a trip with my two DGDs. We opted for the green side and had no problems at all. I will say that without the spinning there's really not much to it--the 5 & 6 yr olds enjoyed it but I thought it was kinda boring. It's a shame because the attraction takes up a lot of space and there's some really cool tech there, it's just not that entertaining. I get just a touch claustrophobic and I can say that it's not a ride I'd want to be stuck on any longer than necessary.

I was also wondering about the sea bracelets/bands. They work for me when cruising but I have never tried them at a theme park. Might give them a shot! Anyone with experience?

I'm prone to motion sickness on rides. Spinny stuff and simulator rides are the worst. As comparison, the teacups are a definite no for me, Star Tours is horrible unless I keep my eyes closed the entire time. FOP I was okay, slight nausea at the dive scenes that I was able to overcome with a few seconds of closing my eyes here and there. Soarin' is no issue for me either. Mission Space Green is no issue what so ever for me, it is extremely tame. The only thing I can see be a problem with that ride is if you are claustrophobic, but motion wise no problems.
